Wellbeing Ambassador
Wellbeing Ambassadors are students who have shown a real interest in championing positive mental health and wellbeing. These students are keen to share their learning around mental health and advertise the importance of self-care.
The Ambassadors have a responsibility for leading and promoting wellbeing throughout school. They drive the message forward and release the stigma around talking about challenging feelings and encourage people to talk. Wellbeing Ambassadors provide feedback on what’s working well and highlight any gaps in Whole School approaches to wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
• Attend an introduction to wellbeing and mental health from lead member of staff.
• Plan and hold a wellbeing assembly.
• Carry out an audit among the pupils to understand what the needs of the School are to have a starting point.
• Create a display within the School with pictures of the Ambassadors so other pupils know who they are and where they can go for support, alongside ideas and activities.
• Carry out random acts of kindness and encourage others to do the same.
• Run lunchtime sessions for pupils to drop in. These could focus on art/sensory activities/relaxation techniques/journaling/mindfulness.
• Attend training related to the role.
• Plan and hold workshops for parents and governors.
• Link with student council and other elected pupil representatives within the School e.g., linking with digital leaders to look at wellbeing online.
