MRS WOOD
HEADMISTRESS
Mrs Wood has been in education for over 25 years. She completed both her Geography degree and PGCE at the University of Leicester. She then went to work at a Leicestershire grammar school as Teacher of Geography and a Housemistress for the Boarding section Having relocated back home to Cheshire, she joined AESG in 2005. Mrs Wood's responsibilities have included being the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and in charge of delivering the school’s pastoral care. She prides herself in providing a pupil and familycentred school experience where everyone is supported to help them succeed This is particularly key to those girls transitioning into our Year 7, where she endeavours to be a friendly, visible presence, celebrating their success during their first year here
As an experienced ISI Inspector, she has a detailed understanding of delivering high quality education across the sector. Mrs Wood was appointed the position of Headmistress in September 2024.


MRS EVANS
DEPUTY HEAD (ACADEMIC)

Mrs Evans has 14 years of teaching and leadership experience. She holds a degree in Mathematics and Management from The University of Sheffield and completed her teacher training at The University of Chester
Throughout her career, she has worked at some of the country's leading schools, including Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, as well as prestigious independent schools in London, where she held positions including Head of Mathematics
She has also taught in Sydney and, most recently, served as Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning at King's College International School Bangkok, part of the King's College Wimbledon family of schools.
Through her role, Mrs Evans works hard to ensure that every Year 7 pupil transitions smoothly into our Senior School by ensuring the quality of our teaching and learning equips them with the academic foundations and BeMore soft skills needed to thrive, whilst also shaping a curriculum that encourages confidence, independence, and a love of learning from the start.

With an incredible nine years at our school Miss McConville’s passion for AESG shines through. As a dedicated sportswoman, she brings energy and enthusiasm to this role, eager to continue providing exceptional pastoral care.
With over 17 years of teaching experience, Miss McConville has always advocated for ensuring every pupil feels heard
With a degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Liverpool and teacher training from Chester University, Miss McConville is well-equipped to make a positive impact.
As a Pastoral Deputy Head, Miss McConville is committed to creating a warm and nurturing environment that embodies our school's family feel, where she takes the time to get to know each of our Year 7 pupils as individuals, understanding their unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations, so that she can provide tailored support to help them settle, thrive, and reach their full potential
