Every Second Counts – Our CT Scanner Appeal
There isn’t a second to waste when a critically ill child comes to hospital. That’s why Alder Hey Children’s Charity is raising £952,000 to fund a state-of-the-art CT Scanner – one of the most advanced in the world.
With your help, we can diagnose and treat children faster, giving them the best chance at recovery and a brighter future.
We’re proud to lead the way in children’s healthcare. With your support, Alder Hey has the opportunity to be the first children’s hospital in the world to use this
lifesaving equipment. The scanner will allow our world-leading radiologists to perform faster, better, safer and kinder scans, speeding up the scanning process by ten times and reducing the need for unnecessary and uncomfortable anaesthetics by up to 80%.

give thousands of children the very best chance at life.

Martha’s Story
In 2024, nine-year-old Martha’s life changed in a way no child or parent could ever expect. What began as a small, seemingly harmless mole on her arm was soon diagnosed as skin cancer. It was a frightening and uncertain time for Martha and her family, but from the very beginning, she faced it all with extraordinary courage.
Martha was referred to Alder Hey where she underwent two operations to remove the cancer. Thanks to the skill and care of the expert medical team, the treatment was a success. While she continues to have regular check-ups, Martha is now back to enjoying life as a happy, active young girl. Her family describe Alder Hey as a lifeline during one of the most challenging times of their lives.
Inspired by the care she received; Martha wanted to give something back. Earlier this year, she set herself the ambitious challenge to climb Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. With her family by her side and despite battling tough weather conditions, Martha pushed through and made it to the summit.

Her incredible effort raised vital funds to support other children going through difficult times, just like she did. Her determination, compassion, and resilience have touched the hearts of everyone at Alder Hey.

The Config Team
We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on The Config Team, an outstanding supply chain consultancy and services provider based in the North West. Known for their innovative solutions and strong company values, The Config Team also have a proud tradition of giving back to their community.
Each year, they hold an internal nomination and voting process to select their Charity of the Year, giving every employee the chance to champion a cause close to their heart. We’re incredibly proud that for 2025, Alder Hey Children’s Charity was chosen as the winner.
Since the partnership began, The Config Team have shown exceptional enthusiasm, creativity, and heart in their fundraising efforts. From bake sales and team-led raffles to collecting donations at industry conferences, their energy has been truly inspiring. One of the highlights of the year so far is their plan to take on a walking marathon, combining physical endurance with a determination to raise vital funds to support our work with children and young people at Alder Hey.
We were also delighted to be invited into their head office, where we had the opportunity to speak with their fantastic team about the impact of their fundraising. It was a wonderful chance to connect and share how their support is helping to create brighter futures for the children we care for.
