aking the transition to Albertus Magnus College is easy. Whether you are transferring from a community college or a four-year college or university, the Admission staff is here to make your transition as smooth as possible.

Admission to Albertus is based on your academic achievement. Typically, the College admits students with a cumulative college grade point average of a C or better after completing at least 12 or more college-level credits, not including remedial coursework, from regionally accredited institutions.

TRANSFERRING CREDITS Perhaps the most stressful part of transferring is the transfer credit evaluation. At Albertus Magnus College, we strive to make the process as simple and straight forward as possible. Below is an overview of the College’s transfer credit policy.

Courses completed with a minimum of C or its equivalent at fully accredited institutions are transferable for all collegiate-level courses.

Both the letter grade and the honor points are transferable and are calculated in the cumulative G.P.A. These courses may be used as requirements or as elective courses in the specific degree program selected by the student.

A maximum of 90 credits is transferable from an accredited four-year college for work done satisfactorily (C or better). A maximum of 64 credits is transferable from junior and community colleges. B.F.A. students may transfer an additional nine credits.

A student must earn at least 12 credit hours in upper-level courses in the major area at Albertus Magnus College. These 12 credits shall be chosen in consultation with the Department Chair, and may exclude credits earned in practical training or internships.

The Office of Admission will provide all students with an unofficial credit evaluation at the time of admission.

The Office of the Registrar has the final say in all matters relating to transfer credits.

TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS The Transfer Scholarships are offered to students who are transferring to Albertus Magnus College from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum of 30 transferable credits.

FINANCIAL AID Albertus Magnus College seeks to enable every student accepted for admission to attend the College, whatever his/her financial circumstances, by providing financial aid to students demonstrating financial need. Financial aid may include scholarships, grants, loans, and work programs. To be considered for your optimum financial aid package, you must: • Obtain and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available online at
