Albemarle Governors
The Governors

We see our Governors primarily as inspirational role models who first and foremost will be able to inspire and motivate our students, getting them to believe in themselves and remove the idea of there being a glass ceiling beyond which they cannot aspire. They provide input to Life Skills sessions for our lower sixth students, and are able to offer careers advice related to their professions.
Charles Lacey
Charles has held many senior posts in schools and colleges over the course of his career, including the Headship of Cranbrook College where he was also Chair of the London division of the Independent Schools Association and Deputy Head of Ibstock Place School. For a period Charles was also Head of the Royal Ballet School in Roehampton, and to this day he is an avid supporter of the performing arts. He is also a keen golfer and cricketer, and now a marathon runner in support of children’s charities such as Whizz-Kidz. For ten years Charles also served as a magistrate in Feltham and Highbury. His wealth of experience makes him ideally suited to his current position as our Chair of Governors. Hina Belitz

Hina is a senior employment lawyer, author and trainer with over 20 years’ experience. She has headed up employment teams at a number of City firms, including DLA Piper, Dentons and Pinsent Mason, and was managing partner of her own City of London law firm – Partners Employment Lawyers for 11 years – now part of Excello Law.
She has been interviewed for National Geographic by Morgan Freeman, for the documentary “The Story of US”, and has recently published her second novel “To Lahore with Love” which has had rave reviews. Julian Worricker

Julian is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster with nearly thirty years’ on-air experience, both in radio and television. He currently presents ‘Weekend’ on the BBC World Service, appears regularly on the BBC News Channel, and on BBC Radio programmes including ‘Any Answers’, ‘Last Word’ and ‘Pick of the Week’. Away from the microphone he does regular training work within the BBC, focusing on presentation and interviewing. Amidst all this apparently frantic activity he never loses sight of the fact that one of the best things he did during his adult life was to jack in work for six months to go travelling round the world.
