l In 1832 the world’s first telegraph was invented by Alumnus Professor Joseph Henry and tested by him and Dr. Philip Ten Eyck in the physics classroom of The Albany Academy. (pictured above ca: early 1900’s). This replica of the original telegraph (pictured below) remains in the Academy Archives and Collections of The Albany Academies.
