PET ADOPTION

Sweety Petey is still searching for his forever home!

Petey was rescued amongst a group of dogs living on their own. When nobody claimed him his fate became dark and he was put on a euthanasia list. With the help of @hwy50freedomride Petey made the trek to OBDRS. He was sickly and didn’t understand much about being cared for by humans. That was 380 days ago!

Since then he has become a strong healthy pup who has learned to love unconditionally! Petey is a bundle of muscles and kisses just waiting to explore this big world! If his story touches your heart and you would like to meet him, please contact us by email or phone to set up an appointment. ohbedogfulrescue@gmail.com • 970-349-5047

Joey is about a 1 year old male terrier mix and true to the terrier breed he has a ton of energy! He was a stray so we don’t have many details about him but here’s what we do know. Joey is a great dog! He is a short, solid, compact little guy weighing 32 lbs. He walks well on leash and loves to play fetch. Joey is also a great couch potato snuggler! Joey is a fast learner and is good with car rides. Joey is very friendly and loving with all sizes of people and he is especially fond of children. We have found that he likes some dogs but not all other dogs. This sweet boy is so excited to meet his new family!!

We met patch at GVAWL last September. At that time, he was an “Untouchable.”

Over the course of two months, we visited him regularly and he came to accept us. In November last year we finally brought him home…Our new 13 year old baby. Patch came to us with numerous injuries, and so he is not the most agile boy, but has spent his first summer with us in the igloo doghouse on the back deck, and in the garden. The sun works miracles on his sore joints! He loves Temptation Treats and will come running when you shake the container. He loves to be brushed, on occasion. And he loves my husband, Jon. He follows him around like a small dog. The most charming thing about him is that he does not meow, but he chirps when he talks. He is the most conversational cat we have ever had. We are so grateful he has joined our family.

What is the Land Development Code (LDC) and the Zoning Map?

The Land Development Code (LDC) is a comprehensive legal document that outlines regulations and standards for how land can be developed within the City of Gunnison. It includes zoning and land use standards. The Zoning Map shows the locations of zones (such as commercial, single-household, and multihousehold) identified in the LDC

The new LDC and Zoning Map may affect your individual proper ty rights and the character of our city. Potential impacts may include, but are not limited to, development oppor tunities or limitations (e.g., types of structures you can build, density allowances, and height) and land use oppor tunities or restrictions based on zone districts (i.e., what types of buildings can go where).

A public hearing is scheduled with the Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Recreation Center, 200 E. Spencer Avenue The purpose of the hearing is for the Commission to hear comments from the public on the proposed LDC and Zoning Map - no action will be taken at that time. More information and a preliminary schedule for adoption can be found online at gunnisonco.gov/ProposedLDC
