his studio focused on designing an environmental education center that connects humans and non-humans to the river which have been daylighted from previous phase.

For my design approach, I intended to design a one floor structure which incorparates nature into the building to include humans,. non-humans and more than humans . The water space is a wetland space which allows visitors to study, learn and interact with water. The rain garden offers an semi-open inhabitant space for non-human species, where visitors can also observe. In addition, the water storage tank and filter tank also connects to the water treatment and purification system of the area.

his studio focuses on understanding current knowledge and preconceptions of housing ideas to challenge and experiement with them Hence, this project is designed with the concept of hybridation of different functional space in one structure. The structure of the apartment is five storey which composed of different functions. from workshop spaces of ground floor to urban forest of second floor, the upper three floors are dedicated to apartment units. In addition, the fourth and fifth floors are rotated to 30 degrees which the orginal east side will be exposed to better sunlight conditions and views are no longer being blocked by the tall apartment in the North and West.

his studio navigates this complex territory and explores what roles design adaptation and new typologies may have in urgently addressing this crisis in our communities. The proposed brief is to renovate existing building and develop a new building incorperating both a public and private space. Hence, through mapping, uncovering and reorganising of existing conditions within the flood-affected town of Rochester, new opportunities of inhabitation will emerge. Based on further readings of post-behaviour model, thus forming different spaces adjusting the needs of occupants, proposing a healing journey for them to walk through and helping to aid their post-flood trauma.

Existing Building - Before Renovation

Post- Flood Behaviour Analysis Using a post-behaviour analysis based on fire, a similar diagram is created showing the links between behaviours from first stage to final stage after flooding, and finding out the diffeent spaces are required for a healing journey/space.

The arch design at the entrance is to invite residents into the space

The timber curved walls are designed with a flow and provides privacy and sound isolation to occupants during meditation

When it’s flooded, the boat will be parked at the flood level and they can enter the building from the balcony garden

The public and private spaces are seperated by a small garden, which is the private entry

The interior walls of the living room also follows the flow of the meditation walls

The bedrooms are designed with tall pitched ceiling to allow for better natural lighting

Space Diagrams Based on the post trauma behaviour analysis, different spaces are formed according to the occupants' needs, these spaces are designed with rectangular envelopes with curved interior walls

he first part of this project was given a set of schematic design drawings produced by KTA Architects for a non-residential project that has planning approval. Working in teams to analyse the project and develop a set of professional architectural construction drawings. The second part is having analysed and resolved the existing schematic design, then identify an opportunity to redesign an aspect of the building to meet the clients wishes to produce an energy positive building that achieves the highest level of regenerative performance.

his studio focuses on broader master planning strategies and the revitalisation of the Indigenous Garden located on Monash University Clayton Campus.

The design brief of this garden is to enhance the visibility of the garden and develop a number of nodes across the garden that should create connection to country, caring for country. and designing for country.

Throughout the nodes designed in the garden, it creates a complete journey for visiotrs to learn, reflect and engage about aboriginal plants, traditions and knowledges. In addition, the garden is also located close to where a new trainline and station is proposed and therefore has the potential to be an important element in the overall entry and arrival into the university.

his studio focused on daylight a part of the Elster Creek and propose new spaces encompossing human, more-than human and non-human space.

By daylighting the creek, my approach is to design it to a more curvy and widen form to slow down the flow of water, and reduce the chance of flooding. After changing its form, it opens up more spaces for new public spaces and non-human spaces. The design also propose human and water interactions, which makes the creek a more community based space and valuable destination to the area.

oday, more than ever, people find thmselves stressed, harmed and despaired in the face of their conventional life style, where one has to work to pay for household bills, taking care of family and having no freedom to explore things they love what so ever. However, this life cycle never stops until they adapt a new life style. Therefore, the basic concept of Portable Lodge is to offer a solution to modern day people where they should to step back from such exauhsting modern lifestyle and move their lives into more simple, comofrtable and unique tiny houses..

The Interactive Pin-Up Gallery proposed a multifunctional gallery for architecture pin-ups based on the concept of movable pin-up boards. Unlike traditional pin-ups where students pin up their works in a class room or hallways where the jury spaces are often limited. With movable pin-up boards, the limit of space can be slightly resolved and creates more spaces for both students to pin up and juries to observe.

he proposal of House of Nature is to designed a house where it can locate anywhere in the world, whether its regualr ground, grass, river or even a cliff. The idea of the house is to be highly adaptable to nature environments through it’s use of materials and structure. The structure of the house is supported based on a 7m height and 4m width maintainable granite stone. The rest of the house will be a rectangular structure built into the stone and will be elevated above the ground by certain distance. Therefore, it has the ability to adapt to any terrain.
