Create A Global Family How To Settle In and Find Your Tribe

Creating Global Family Where is my Tribe? Originally traveling was a daunting idea because the idea of being in a foreign country and not speaking my language, in being so far away from friends And family felt lonely.

Then came the Internet and I am no longer alone, so I'm going to share with you some of places that I go when I am in the new country to create Global family. 1. Civic clubs and civic organizations. Places like the Lions Club the American legion veterans of foreign war's the Kiwanis club and other organizations like that tend to be a gathering place for people who speak your language and who share your interest. There seem to be also in every Newtown A ex pats club which allows people to learn about the nuances of different countries and to have access to resources such as embassies Visa registration and the laws of whatever countries you are visiting. 2. Churches and spiritual organizations are a great source of networking. Whether or not you are spiritual whether or not you are of a particular religion doesn't matter what does matter is the fellowship and relationships that you share during and after spiritual practices and

spiritual observations and rituals with other people. It gives you a common ground and create new experiences. 3. Volunteer Organizations. There are many places to volunteer and every community has a need whether it's to teach English or assist other people in getting something done for hospice care or visiting expats who are sick ‌ there are many opportunities to volunteer .be of service and connect to others of like mind 4. AA meetings I have been clean and sober for 30 years and while drinking and partying is not a problem it's not how I choose to spend my time most of the time. I choose to be around people who are conscious and who are interested in evolving their consciousness. As such often times the social and party type groups spend quite a bit of their time drinking socially and sometimes even socially doing drugs and for me that is a disconnect. There are AA meetings in every town matter how small and many times they are in English. I am not suggesting that you go to and a meeting just to meet other people but one of the rules of AA and NA and all of the other 12 Step Programs is never is the rule of HALT, so with that in mind remember that AA meetings give you an opportunity to practice HALT and for those of you don't know what that is if you are not someone who has worked the steps it means never become too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired it's a reminder to take care of yourself.

5. Finally there is Meetup.com. There are meetups all over the world and some of them are good some not so much, but always there is an opportunity to connect. Either start your own meetup if you have a skill or

information to share or a desire and the ability to organize people and to lead a group or If you do not have the ability but you have a desire to connect to other people you can join meetups and find meeting in your area without a fee which gives you access to many other people. Just be aware that in some cases you meet people and it really clicks and other times not so much and that's okay. In addition when you go to the home page for Meetup in your area you will see some categories where people have expressed an interest in a subject but that no one is leading that group… This is a built in starting point for you if that is an area the you have expertise in.

Remember creating global family is much like having a biological family.. It’s work but at least with global family you can choose consciously what type of people and what interests are best suited to your growth and then work to strengthen those relationships…
