SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE IN VELLUTERS, VALENCIA Universidad Politécnica de Valencia,

School of architecture in Velluters Valencia The proposal of the project is the design of a small high-school of architecture, placed in the old quarter of Velluters, in Valencia. In order to be consequent with the configuration of this area, the projecto consist in two irregular shapes, one in front of the other and surrounding the small urban void between them, which is at the moment cossed by a street. The final configuration pretend to change this void into a small square, and configurate this two buildings around. The bigger plot, on the south, will be the school itselft, divided into two spaces, one for the classrooms and workshops rooms, and the other for a big courtyard, to which the classrooms look at, and opened to the public square and separated only by a filter, a metalic skin. The other plot is destinated for de library, a compact volume with a big skylight which crosses all floors.

URBAN PROJECT OF THE CENTRAL PARK IN VALENCIA Universitat Politécnica de Valencia

The railway has crossed the city of Valencia, from the south to the heart of the city in, since 1917 when the train station of Valencia was built. Now, the city plans to bury the railway, and this would leave a really big area which is planned to be a huge central park. It is also necessary to reorganize the area along the railway, now a degraded area, planning an urban programm for the southern area, and creating a urban limit between the city and the agricultural area. This new park is called to be one of the cores of Valencia, new citizen point where the comercial and leisure activities, the open green space and the urban furnishing take place.

Analysis We face in this project with a very compact area, mostly occupied by residential buildings; we can see near the central train station the downtown, the most compact area with low and irregular buildings. As we move away from the downtown, the city become more regular, a little less compact, and the buildings increase the hight. This regular area, built in the XIX century, converge in the corner now occupied by the train railways, and in the

future, the central park. It is also remarkable the lack of green areas or voids in this part of the city; we can find, however, some void areas in the southern part of the intervention area with agricultural uses. Beyond a school and a sport center which is not fully operational, the presence of the railways and the lack of an urban plan convert this area in a abandoned location,an aparently not finished urban space.

The future project will try to complete this urban area, joining the different parts of this complex space and focusing the green areas and the urban furnishing in the central park. The project start with the plan of undergrounding the railways, which makes possible to connect avobe ground the main streets, which are right now connected underground, or not connected at all.

Old cities; no green areas in the cities.

Traditional modern cities; green areas between the buildings.

Future proposal; green areas, city and activities work together in the same spaces.

Proposal The idea of this proposal is, on one hand, to keep the city configuration inside the park, continuing the regular patter the city presents. Inside this regular patter, the city become a park, a green area mixed with the comercial activities and the urban furnishing. This creates a new concept of park, folloginw the configuration of the city and replacing the

residential and placing green areas instead, but keeping the comercials. A block in the center of the park becomes the core of the park, an open and versatile space. The southern part of the intervention area is completed and unbranized using modern linear blocks.

SIGHTSEEING TOWER AND VISITORS BUILDING IN THE SCHWARZWALD Universit채t Stuttgart E.I.E.K Institut.

The place is located on the south of Germany, in the middle of the Schwarzwald, the black forest, a place that was devastated by an hurricane some years ago. The German goverment decided the carry out an interesant experiment; they decided to let the nature work, and test how the nature can regenerate by itselft. The project include the design of a sightseeing tower, that can alse be use both as a watchtower and a touristic point, and also a visitors center, which includes different uses, mainly focused on the tourism. Looking for the perfect point to place the tower, we taked in consideration the point of arrival by car, and the point with the perfect views, we create a route, from the first to the seconth, creating a way along of which the different uses and buildings are placed. In that way, the visitors center is not a compact building; it becomes a walk into the forest. The visitors discover the volumes along a walkway, elevated from the ground to cause the minimum impact on the area, providing the visitors a hight ventage point, and guiding them in the forest. The tower is not only an observation point, is also a space that can be use as a museum, exhibition area or investigation.

POLITICAL AND COMMUNITY CENTER, PUBLIC SQUARE AND INTERVENTION IN THE NORTH WING OF THE STUTTGART TRAIN STATION Universität Stuttgart I.R.G.E Institüt. FYP Universidad de Valéncia

Stuttgart, placed on the south-east of Germany, and surrounded by the black forest and vineyards, get its importance by the strong industrial and economical sector. Besides this, is also quiet, green and modern city. The partial destruction during the WW2 gave the oportunity to build a contemporany city, where the historic city is reduced to some specific buildings. The city of Stuttgart, which used to be quiet, is now seeing how the citizens take the streets in a serie of demonstrations. The reason, leaving a part the crisis, is the social unrest against “Stuttgart 21”, a project for the main train station. This project will tear down part of the old station to integrate the rest into a new building complex. At this point, with the north wing of the old station demolished, the project is in stalled, thanks to the public demostrations. This project propose the hipotetic sitation in which the “Stuttgart 21” can not be continued; the proposal is to act in the void leaved by the north wing, and work in the parking space at the north-west exit of the station.

Pedestrian subway conection

Due to the strong traffic streets around the station, the building has become an island inside the city, where the easiest way to get into is underground, from the pedestrian subway.

The north wing was demolished , and the north-west acces looks now incomplete. One of the goals of the project is to solve this problem, completing someway this void and giving a new facade to the public space El ala norte de la estación ha sido derribada, y la simetría que se apreciaba en el aterior acceso oeste se ha roto ahora. El proyecto debe también tratar ese vacío que se produce tras el derribo, y completar de alguna manera la fachada oeste de la estación.

The north-west acces is preceded by a big space; It is a parking right now, but is the space the new project is about to convert in a new public square.

The “Klettpassage”, the pedestrian subway is transited area that connects the station with the differents streets around the area, an also with the U-bahn and S-bahn lines.

COWORKING SPACE AND OFFICE VALENCIA Design for cogesti贸n consulting company

Cogesti贸n is a consulting company placed in Valencia, Spain. It is a new company with the goal of helping other people to create new companys. The services the company want to give to the costumers are not only financial and economic advising, also planes to offer a place to start, an office from where launch the project. At this point, the company needs a coworking space to offer to the costumers the personal advising and the place to start. The coworking space is planed in a commercial ground floor, with two entries. The irregular space, at the beginning divided by a serie of partitions, is planned to be a clear open space, organized by a service core on the corner of the plot, leaving two differents areas; one for the workplaces and a small meeting space. The extremely low cost of the project obly us to leave all the get rid of any ornamental element, leaving the original materials where is possible, and working with visible electrical and air conditioned systems.
