KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) – The Local Government of Kalibo, Aklan has imposed curfew hours for minors and has regulated operations of bars, videokes and other similar establishments in the entire municipality of Kalibo. On August 11, 2022, Kalibo mayor Juris Sucro issued Executive Order No. 026 series of 2022 also known as “An order regulating the operation of Bars, Videokes, Disco and Other Similar Establishment and Imposing Curfew to all Minors within the Teritorial Jurisdiction of the Municipality of Kalibo Province of Aklan,” and has taken effect immediately. According to Sucro, the issuance of the ordinance is for the town’s objective to combat a potential surge of COVID-19 cases as well as for crime prevention especially with minors’ involvement. Based on the EO, minors are prohibited to loiter in public places from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. in Kalibo, Aklan; and instead they are encouraged to stay at home. However, said minors may be allowed to leave home during the curfew hours if for essential and emergency reasons only or they are accompanied by an adult or guardian. Aside from curfew hours for minors, the ordinance also mandates that bars, videokes, discos, and the likes, should be totally closed at 1:00 a.m., of which the last order for said establishments will be at 11:30 p.m. Moreover, convenience and sari-sari stores are prohibited from selling and dispensing of liquor or intoxicating beverages from 11:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Per the said EO, the enforcement of the ordinance is given to the Kalibo Municipal Police Station with the assistance of Barangay officials and tanods. KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) -- The province of Aklan, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), recently launched the “Libot Ko, Limpyo Ko” clean-up campaign covering various departments and offices located in the Provincial Capitol Building and outlying ones to destroy possible breeding places of dengue-carrying mosquitoes in the vicinity. The clean-up campaign, which started on first week of August, will be conducted up to September 20, 2022, designating Wednesdays and Fridays of every week as “Limpyo” days from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is in line with Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores’ Executive Order No. 011 released earlier to combat dengue in the province, which had been observed by health officials here to be continuously increasing.

Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Leslie Ann L.
