Pre-registration is required for all Community Education (CE) Classes. Classes are canceled if the minimum number of students is not reached two days BEFORE the first class session. MOUNTAIN DULCIMER 2 - FOR PL AYERS WITH SOME FAMILIARIT Y WITH THEIR INSTRUMENT

Discover the fundamental elements of film production, decode the language of the film set, and unlock the inner workings of the film industry. In this course you will learn and execute all of the steps necessary to make your own films with nothing but your cell phone. Whether you dream of making short films, features, web/TV series, or documentaries, this course is for you. No experience necessary!

You will explore scales, finger-dexterity exercises, chords, and at least two tunings. New tunes will be presented each week in the chord-melody and cross-string techniques. Ornaments, such as hammers, pulls, and slides, will be incorporated into lessons & applied to tunes.

CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP: WRITING IN A FL ASH Short writing can be mighty. In this workshop we’ll explore the art of Flash Nonfiction (works less than 1000 words), writing pieces that describe a moment and pack a punch. Every week, we’ll be inspired by prompts, current works, reading and fun homework. You’ll leave with a variety of pieces to revise or to send to publications. EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

Background Checks and Prerequisites:

This course runs for one semester. Ready to take a step toward a career in the highdemand medical field? After successful completion of this challenging course, you will be able to render basic emergency care to the sick and injured with confidence and compassion. Graduates will be well prepared for the national board examination process, a necessary requirement for EMT certification and career. Adult Secondary Education (ASE, ABE, HiSET®/GED®)

Immediately after your orientation session, take the CASAS Reading Assessment to determine your proficiency level in English. Allow about 90 minutes for the test. There are alternative dates to take the CASAS as well. 3. Take two additional assessments online (either at school or from home): an Intake Questionnaire & Writing Sample and a Math placement test. (The links to these assessments are emailed to you after you register. They are also on our website.) 4. Get enrolled in classes. Schedule an appointment with the academic counselor, Betsey Hoyt, to enroll in classes and plan the educational program that best meets your needs.
