Welcome to your latest What’s On Guide Each year Richmond Theatre boasts an outstanding array of productions, including world-class drama, colourful children’s shows, and tremendously entertaining one night performances, and this season is no exception! We are also extremely excited to welcome our new General Manager, Brendan Riding, to the venue. With over 10 years of experience in the theatre industry, Brendan is looking forward to leading the venue into the future and getting to know our wonderful audiences.

‘AS BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL AS EVER. THANK YOU RICHMOND THEATRE FOR STILL BEING PART OF MY LIFE AND BEING A FABULOUS CONDUIT OF STORIES.’ B. M C KEN N A

‘ONE OF MY FAVOURITE THEATRES IN LONDON. ALWAYS A FABULOUS EXPERIENCE. FEEL EXCEPTIONALLY PRIVILEGED TO LIVE CLOSE BY.’ F. M ARITAN

The warmest of welcomes from myself and all of the staff here at Richmond Theatre for what is my first season leading one of the UK’s most loved theatres. I am honoured to now be part of this wonderful venue’s history. Richmond Theatre has played a major part of my theatrical career and holds a very special place in my heart. I have visited regularly as a customer since moving back to London in 2008, and in 2012 I performed here in Noel Coward’s Star Quality. In 2014 I produced the UK tour of The Two Worlds of Charlie F during its UK and international tour and over the last four years I’ve programmed over twenty Bill Kenwright Ltd productions into Richmond Theatre including Martin Shaw in the The Best Man, Tom Conti in Twelve Angry Men, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, The Shawshank Redemption, Lynn Paul in Blood Brothers and most recently Joe McElderry in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Producers and promoters love bringing their shows to Richmond Theatre and we can offer you some of the best productions from across the UK and around the world. As we move towards our 120th anniversary in 2019 I hope to be able to share news of even more exciting productions and following the success of our first co-production, John Inverdale’s Rugby Re:Union, introduce our very own in-house events. I am passionate about the quality of our content and want to be ambitious with the programme that we offer you. I believe that coupled with smart and creative choices, it can enable Richmond to stand proud as the UK’s best regional playhouse. Leading a venue is about collaboration. Collaboration with our producers and promoters, the companies that visit us every week and collaboration with you, our valued supporters. I am keen to hear your thoughts about your own experiences at Richmond Theatre. Your feedback is invaluable, if we can improve in any areas then I am keen to hear your thoughts. To aid this I will be holding a number of meet and greets to invite feedback throughout the year, and if you would like to share any thoughts before this you can contact me on: richmondadmin@theambassadors.com. I am looking forward to seeing you all at the theatre very soon!

CREATIVE LEARNING

‘Teaching at Richmond is an absolute joy. The children have lots of ideas and I love hearing the wacky, creative stuff they come up with each week. Lots of the children see shows at Richmond regularly and it’s exciting for them to get an insight into what it’s like backstage. It’s great sharing my love of singing with such enthusiastic and willing children, and working with such a great team makes it so easy.’ Hannah Jackson – Singing Teacher

Learn. Create. Perform. Enjoy. Richmond Theatre is at the cultural heart of our town and our Creative Learning department is dedicated to making sure people of all ages and abilities can take part in theatre and the arts. All of our workshops and courses are inclusive and full of fun. Anyone can join in and all will be encouraged. 28 | ATGTICKETS.COM
