THIS IS A DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR A 2BHK DUPLEX LOCATED IN THE SMALL TOWN OF MANIPAL.

THE CONCEPT WAS TO BRING GREENERY IN AND AROUND THE HOUSE AND GIVE VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES FOR RELAXATION AND RECREATION. USE OF TRADINATIONAL JAALI NEAR THE INDOOR GARDEN REPRESENTS THE LOCAL ARCHITECTURE WHILE PROVIDING VENTILATION.

THE DESIGN CONSISTS OF ALL THE COMMON SPACES ON THE GROUND FLOOR. FIRST FLOOR INCLUDES THE BEDROOM AND FAMILY AREA WHICH OVERLOOKS THE INDOOR GARDEN

ON GROUND FLOOR. DINING OPENS UP TO A RELAXING DECK AREA WITH SWIMMING POOL. A GAZEBO AND WA TER WALL WITH A PICNIC BENCH HAS BEEN PLANNED FOR OUTDOOR REC REATION. LOCATION: MANIPAL, KARNATAKA, INDIA

ARBOR VITAE: TREE OF LIFE. A KINDERGARTEN DESIGN PROPOSAL THAT USES ITS DESIGN TO GUIDE THE USERS WITHIN THE BUILDING. THE DESIGN CONCEPT ORIGINATES FROM THE ANCIENT STYLE OF SCHOOLING CALLED ‘GURUKUL’.

IT CONSISTS OF 3 BLOCKS WHICH ARE INTERCONNECTED THROUGH

PATHWAYS. SITE IS ZONED IN 4

PARTS- PLAYGROUND, BUILDING, POOL AND PARKING. VAST COURT YARD IS PRESENT WHICH CREATES MICROCLIMATE WITHIN THE SITE.

BANYAN TREE WITH SEATING UNDERNEATH IS PRESENT FOR OUTDOOR TEACHING, ESSENTIALLY EMPHASING

THE CONCEPT OF ‘GURUKUL’.

AMBER RETREAT

RESORT

AMBER RETREAT IS A DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR A RESORT IN GOA. THE RESORT INCLUDES VARIOUS TYPES OF HOTEL ROOMS AND STAFF QUARTERS ALONG WITH FACILITIES SUCH AS RESTAURANT, RECREATION BLOCK AND BANQUET HALL.

FORM IS DEVELOPED BY PLAYING WITH THE MASSING, IT FOLLOWS THE CONCEPT OF CUBISM.

THE SITE PLANNED IN A WAY TO GUIDE THE USER THROUGH HIERAR CHY OF SPACES- PUBLIC TO PRIVATE. THE MAIN ROAD LEADS TO RECEP TION, RESTAURANT AND BANQUET HALL WHICH ACCESSIBLE TO ALL WHILE, ALL THE HOTEL ROOMS AND STAFF QUARTERS ARE CONNECTED THROUGH PATHWAYS. THIS REDUCES VEHICULAR MOVEMENT WITHIN SITE.

HIGH-RISE OFFICE BUILDING

DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR A HIGH RISE OFFICE BUILDING. THE DESIGN CONSISTS OF FOUR BASEMENT FLOORS FOR PARKING AND SERVICES, ANOTHER FOUR FLOORS FROM GROUND FOR COMMERCIAL SPACES FOLLOWED BY 21 OFFICE FLOORS.

THE FACADE IS DESIGNED TO HAVE GREEN WALLS ALONG WITH WOODEN LOUVERS WHICH CREATES SHADOW PATTERNS INSIDE THE BUILDING.

SITE ZONING WAS DONE IN A WAY WHERE THE OFFICE BUILDING WAS KEPT NEAR MAIN ROAD FOLLOWED BY RESIDENTIAL UNITS BEHIND. THIS RESTRICTS THE MOVEMENT OF OFFICE WORKERS AND OTHER USERS IN RESIDENTIAL AREA, PROVIDING PRIVACY.

WHILE THE RAINS OF MANIPAL NURTURE TREES, THE FRACTAL GEOMETRY OF THE FACADE PROMOTES THE CONNECTION BETWEEN ALL AGE GROUPS, CREATING A SENSE OF ONENESS.

COMPETITION- 02 SOLAR DECATHELON 2021-2022

INTRODUCTION

THE DESIGN PROPOSED IS FOR AN OFFICE BUILDING THAT IS PART OF A RESIDENTIAL PROJECT. THE COMMERCIAL BUILDING INCLUDES – A SUPERMARKET, RETAIL STORE, RESTAURANT, BUSINESS CENTER-(EACH OF ONE FLOOR) AND 21 OFFICE FLOORS ABOVE. ACCORDING TO THE STANDARDS FROM ECBC AND NBC, A BASE CASE MODEL WAS PREPARED AND THEN SIMULATIONS WERE DONE AFTER CAREFUL CONSIDERATION TO CARRY OUT PREDESIGN COMFORT & ENERGY SIMULATION.
