Greetings Sorors, Kaabọ, Nnabata, Maraba. Welcome to Lagos, Nigeria!

In many West African languages, we don’t say welcome, we say welcome back. Indeed, you have returned home. I am overjoyed that you accepted the invitation of our host chapter Alpha Alpha Omega Omega to attend the 2023 Pacific Cluster Conference. Whether you are physically or virtually present, we have planned an experience that fosters you “Embracing the Diversity of Global Sisterhood.”

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® encourages lifelong learning and the International Region embodies learning from and sharing with each other while appreciating our cultural variances. Embracing our diversity and that of the communities we serve enables us to impactfully and uniquely implement programs of service. This cluster conference aims to update your knowledge on the initiatives and plans of the Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood administration. We plan to activate your engagement by sharing best practices to promote sisterliness, standards, and sustainability at the chapter level to elevate our Cluster, Region, and ultimately our beloved sisterhood.

Your donation will provide CHIPP power pack meals for children attending Liberty School Ikota in Lagos State. As we spotlight your chapter and highlight your successes, take it in, take the win. On behalf of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Alpha Omega Omega Chapter, I am honored to welcome all of you to the Pacific Cluster Conference in Lagos, Nigeria.

Our conference theme “Embracing the Diversity of Global Sisterhood” is a true testament of how high the International Region is SOARING under the outstanding leadership of Madam Regional Director, Soror Carrie J. Clark.

We embrace the diversity of our sisterhood and by doing so, we have brought this year's Pacific Cluster Conference to the Motherland (Nigeria).

Our chapter is small but mighty and has worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure a true African Alpha Kappa Alpha conference experience. We have amazing activities lined up for you Sorors, and now you can check “Visit Nigeria” off your bucket list and prepare to learn and fellowship with your sisters in Lagos. From the business of Alpha Kappa Alpha to our Welcome Reception by the US Consular General to our Tourist Visits, Private Dinners, Beach Front Gathering, and other site visits, this is sure to be an experience you won't soon forget.

With the support of the International Region, we are committed to giving you a full cultural experience and we are excited that you will be visiting Nigeria. Our registration numbers for in-person and virtual are very impressive and this definitely shows how committed you are to serving Alpha Kappa Alpha.

The International Region is excited to join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s strong history of supporting and servicing families, for we understand a healthy family is the foundation of a healthy community. We are committed to a multi-generational approach to fortify families within our communities by addressing child hunger and promoting positive youth development and leadership, mental well-being, and senior life.

Our region-wide cluster service area of focus is the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP™). AKA CHIPP provides weekend and holiday meals for children within local communities and is targeted to be Alpha Kappa Alpha’s most ambitious childhood hunger program to date.

As an old African Proverb wisely puts it, "A full stomach is needed to carry a nourished mind."

Regrettably, as of August 2022, more than 19.4 million Nigerians, among them numerous school-aged children, are battling food insecurity.

Our chapter has taken under its wing, Liberty School in Ikota, Lagos, Nigeria; a school that relies entirely on donations. We wholeheartedly invite Sorors to unite with us in extending the ongoing endeavors of the CHIPP initiative, currently being executed at Ikota Liberty School.

Our objective is simple yet profound: to provide complimentary meals to Primary 6 (6th Grade) students during weekends and holiday breaks, ensuring they stay robust, well-fed, and primed for effective learning.

Alpha Alpha Omega Omega Chapter, actively involved in the Pacific Cluster of the Sorority's International Region uses this opportunity as a capstone for expanding the CHIPP program in Lagos, Nigeria. With just $10 or N4000, you can feed a student for an entire weekend.

Join us on our goal to raise $1500 towards feeding the students for an entire year.

The donations of $19.08 will be the start of helping to provide 2,400 powerpacks annually, feeding 50 underprivileged children, improving their health and expanding their opportunities.

Regional Chapter Awards at IRC 2023: Global Spotlight Award (Soror Tashina Harrow) Program Highlights: Empower Our Families: Activated the CHIPP program at Liberty School where students are provided weekend and holiday meals. The program has been very welcome by the school, the parents and the students.

AKA Youth leadership institute: Worked with youth in the community to do a vision board workshop and to talk about Leadership. It was well attended by and impactful. We received positive feedback from the kids and their parents.

Enhance Our Environment: Collaborated with Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency to host a discussion around Enhancing our Environment. We had speakers and the event was well attended and took place at RF Gardens (a private Garden in Lagos). All guests engaged in a planting activity after the event.

Mental Health Awareness: Hosted a mental health awareness paint & talk program. We worked with a renowned licensed clinical psychologist and Sorors & Guests left with new tips on the importance of mental health, how to identify mental health issues and how to better manage anxiety.

Strengthen our Sisterhood: Sisterly Relations Activities and Dinners are organized and hosted quarterly by Sorors to include Soror Potluck, Kickback at Soror Stella's and Independence Day Poolside Potluck.

Community Collaboration/Projects: Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (Enhancing Our Environment) which was well attended with representative of the Governor of Lagos State (Dr. Fasewe) alongside other speakers.

Chapter Events/Special Programs (including NPHC activities) Founders’ Day Celebration: We held a joint Founders Day celebration & AKA service day event spent sorting and packing donated items for Winiseph Care Home alleviating their costs for a few weeks.

Mental Health Awareness Event: Our paint & talk mental health awareness program featured a licensed clinical psychologist, Sorors & guests left with new tips on how to better manage anxiety.

Collaborative Dinner with Alpha Kappa Alpha and Kappa Alpha Psi to welcome a Soror and Her Husband (Mr & Mrs Simmons) who is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, to Nigeria.

Fund Raising Activities & Successes: Fundraising for CHIPP (Liberty School, Ikota) and to buy supplies for Winiseph Care Home Scholarship Donations - EAF – Silver Level Donor Recruitment and Reactivations - Communicate via WhatsApp group called Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorors in Lagos. Periodic messages are sent and the chapter invites inactive Sorors to programs to encourage them to reactivate.

Empower Our Families - Hosted Mental Health Mondays in the month of May (reached over 300 people) and provided tips for dealing with stress, depression and trauma. Seniors program we host one chapter meeting per quarter at the home of a golden Soror, and also host our monthly meetings at a location accessible to our senior sorors. MLK Day of Service - Marketplace Health Pre-Screening at a local market to educate people about blood pressure through a “Know your Numbers” campaign. We pre-screened 127 persons (112 female and 15 males). At risk participants received vouchers to see a doctor for further testing..

Build Our Economic Wealth - Fiscal Fitness Sister Circle provides sorors trainings on goals setting and budgeting. Each soror also has an accountability partner for their financial goals. We have reported a marked improvement in savings and other financial goals. Black dollar days in June - Total spending of $4020 reported. We have continued to support and promote Female Entrepreneurs throughout the year on social media.

Enhance Our Environment - Adopted a community school garden in Paynesville, Liberia to begin a gardening program with the middle school students. We have planted and harvested several local Liberian crops, including okra, potato greens, peppers, and water greens. Harvested crops are shared amongst students and administration.

Advocate For Social Justice - Partnered The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center), Eta Beta Omega for a Voter Registration event; Sorors served as official election observers authorized by Liberia’s National Elections Commission to participate in a free, fair and transparent election. Distributed NEC Voter Registration handouts and publicized voting information directly impacting 85 people and indirectly impacting 350 people. “Konnect on the Issues” brought Liberian women development experts Sara Nyanti-Beysolow (who announced her candidacy for President after our event), Naomi Solanke-Tulay and Mmonbeydo Joah discussing the issues that Liberian women are voting on in Health, Development and Economics. The event was very well received with 38 people joining online. Peace March - Liberian Divine 9 family celebrated International Day of Peace with a march and prayer service.

Uplift Our Local Community - Eta Beta Omega supports our chapter’s signature and award-winning program: “ Ending Period Poverty”, providing reusable menstrual kits to school age girls in public school around the country. Over 700 kits have been distributed so far this year. Through our “Meals Support and Mentorship Program” we provide monthly food supplies to a group of “Out-of-Age Orphans to help them find their place in society. We are working on providing internship or apprenticeship opportunities based on their interest.

Community Collaboration/Projects 2023 Peace March and Prayer Service in collaboration with other D9 organizations.

2022 Women's Health and Cancer Awareness 2022 Breast Cancer Awareness March (October 2022) in memory of IBTW Soror Rhonda Von Ballmoos Chapter 65th Anniversary Celebration Scholarship Donations: Eta Beta Omega has a scholarship fund that provides full tuition to college women in Liberia. This is a competitive merit-based program and we currently have 7 young women receiving annual scholarships.

Recruitment and Reactivation 2023 "Reflections Retreat Before the Retreat"-Sorors both active and inactive held a sisterhood retreat and spent a weekend of sisterhood and fellowship in April 2023, reflecting on the sorority, service and sisterhood.

Regional Chapter Awards at IRC 2023: Regional - Best of the Best Membership International EAF - Gold Level Soror Michelle Sizemore - Silver Soror, 2nd Place Soror Lateasa Reed Jackson -Silver Soror Soror Michelle Flagg-Evans - Silver Soror Recognition Soror Lateasa Reed Jackson - Recognized for Women's History month Program Highlights: The 2023 Mu Psi Omega Chapter Fall Retreat was held in Naples, Italy and was full of opportunities for MPO Sorors to engage with chapter members, relax, rejuvenate and visit the beautiful sights Naples had to offer. During Mental Health Month, the Mu Psi Omega Chapter sponsored a “dance your way to a sound mind” event, which included a dance class, healthy snacks, and a discussion on mental health and benefits of dance.

Mu Psi Omega Chapter wore pink, spent green, and bought black during the month of June to focus on black owned businesses. In the month of April, Mu Psi Omega Chapter celebrated the importance of trees to our survival by planting trees and an herb garden. Mu Psi Omega Chapter held a voting education event aiming to register, mobilize and empower our community to utilize their most powerful tools of community change and advocacy overseas in Germany.

Community Collaboration/Projects - The Mu Psi Omega Chapter, Germany collaborated with the Phi Omicron Omega, Japan to pack 50 CHIPP snack bags filled with non-perishable food items that will be delivered to a school located in Japan.

Chapter Events/Special Programs (including NPHC activities) Hosted the first NPHC social event of the year. Ugly Sweater After Christmas Bowling Party at Ramstein Air Base. What an amazing turnout and a night of fellowship and fun with our D9 family.

13th Annual Women’s Empowerment Tea Scholarship Donations: $300 Mu Psi Omega Chapter distributed $7,500 to deserving students in our military community this year. We held a popcorn fundraiser, raised scholarship funds by volunteering at the annual Bazaar, conducted various raffles, and held a tribute to 50 years of Hip Hop event. We're grateful to our patrons who made monetary donations to our scholarship fund to support various MPO events and look forward to raising our scholarship budget next year.

Recruitment and Reactivation : Mu Psi Omega's annual Women's Empowerment Tea was hosted Saturday, 9 September 2023. This event raises awareness of women's issues, raises scholarship funds, and serves as our fall recruitment and reactivation event.

We encourage AKA members in the area to reconnect. Over 80 guests, including general members, members of other chapters, and members not currently active in our sisterhood, enjoyed an exciting afternoon of socializing with new friends and enjoying hors d'oeuvres with a delightful assortment of teas and pastries.

International and Regional Positions: Soror Misti-Dawn Curry, International Program Committee Representative and Regional Program Committee Chairman Soror Tracy Faulkner, International Region Leadership Development Committee Chairman Soror Saderia Nicole Hooks, Regional Awards Committee Co-Chairman Program Highlights: Strengthen Our Sisterhood – Chapter hosted the highly popular Wine Down Wednesdays each month and introduced Finally Fridays, where sorors got together for in-person activities on the first Friday every other month. We invite sorors in the UAE who are currently not in OTO to join us as well.

Empower our Families MLK Day of Service by serving hot meals in one of Dubai's most overlooked and underserved communities. As a part of the global AKA MLK Day of Service, sorors and members of OTO gathered to serve over 400 hot meals to men in one of Dubai's labor camps that houses labor workers from countries all over the world.

Sorors met with community food providers and shared the meals with more than 200 men staying at the Ghantoot Labor Camp.

CHIPP Kickoff - at the Dubai Central SDA Church where sorors met and packaged over 200 CHIPP bags to share with children at the campus Youth Leadership Institute launched with more than 12 teens and youth at the Dubai Central SDA Church.

February 2023: Omega Theta Omega hosted the Pink Goes Red Bowling Extravaganza.

Omega Theta Omega hosted a Fireside Chat with Author and Trailblazer Charlene Wheeless, best selling author of "You Are Enough."

Enhance our Environment - Omega Theta Omega participated in the International Regional Day of Service by helping Children of Determination plant flowers and take steps to begin home gardens. Sorors partnered with First Abu Dhabi Bank and the Community Planters Society to discuss planting and growing in the UAE and do some planting of their own. Attendees planted flowers in decorated pots and planted various fruits and vegetables to then be nurtured at their homes.

Community Collaboration/Projects: AZIZA, a youth-led space for Black women at New York University Abu Dhabi, for The Big Sister Project to discuss mental health and well-being. OTO sorors, community and campus leaders gathered for a panel discussion centered around Black Womanhood in the UAE and how to practice and remain in constant self-care and self-love Chapter Events/Special Programs (including NPHC activities): Pretty Fun Play Day Breast Cancer Awareness Event. Attendees from the community, New York University Abu Dhabi, and sorors in the UAE came out to learn about Breast Cancer, prevention, and ways to help find a cure.

Groove Theory Jazz Night to raise funds for charity and support local black businesses. Guests joined members of Alpha Kappa Alpha for live music and a party for a purpose as they donated to their favorite charities as the cost for admission and enjoyed the sites and sounds of Atlon Abu Dhabi. More than 1,000AED was donated to charity.

Fund Raising Activities & Successes: Kimonos for a Cause Program Development Drive to raise funds for its chapter programs. Sorors from around the world purchased over 60 kimonos and helped OTO raise the funds for our 2023 programs and scholarship.

We had a successful CHIPP launch with Creative Icon, which is a school-based program on our military installation that supports school-aged children. Through this partnership we distributed over 200 bags last school year. We supported over 40 students with this initiative and 100 percent of parents and students valued the program.

Build our Economic Wealth - Yokosuka Entrepreneur Event: Psi Beta Omega Chapter hosted a Women Entrepreneur Panel on March 4, 2023. We promoted, celebrated, and raised visibility for women entrepreneurs in our local community and our panelists discussed the victories and challenges surrounding entrepreneurship.There were five women on our panel and through feedback surveys our community overwhelmingly appreciated this opportunity on our military installation. It gave insight to many who desire to start small businesses while overseas due to the limited employment opportunities.

We joined together to beautify the main courtyard entrance of the local elementary school. Additionally, Psi Beta Omega provided the students who supported this event with an environmentally friendly plant in a cup to take home.

Feed the Homeless with Kingdom Builders - Psi Beta Omega Chapter joined together with Kingdom Builders Community Center of Fussa, Japan to collect and deliver supplies to the local homeless community. Four chapters, four volunteers from Kingdom Builders Community Center, and 6 youth hand-delivered food and essential items to a variety of locations in the Fussa area.

Soror Squads were formed in Atlanta, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Washington, D.C physically, alongside one virtual squad for PTO Sorors not living in one of the specified cities. Soror Squads convened for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in January 2023.

Empower our Families – AKA EduFun Food Pantry in Johannesburg has provided monthly food parcels, personal care supplies, and workshops to 15 vulnerable children (ten boys and five girls ages 10-18; supporting 87 family members) at the Diepsloot Combined School in the Diepsloot Township.

Spread a Little Love (SALL) distributes 200 sandwiches weekly to Grade 2 students in the Reading Enrichment Program at Diepsloot Combined School in the Diepsloot Township.

The Combined School’s reading enrichment program addresses food insecurity, incentivizes attendance, promotes academic success, and encourages community involvement.

Support our Seniors offers intergenerational activities for all ages. The Support our Seniors program includes AKA Pals and Planning for the Future workshops to support seniors.

Enhance our Environment A Community Garden to Diepsloot Combined School Vegetable Garden Project promotes sustainable agriculture and environmental impact in the Diepsloot Township in Johannesburg, South Africa.The vegetable garden project reinforces the food pantry at the Combined school and the school community.

The Composting for Beginners Webinar was designed to give composting beginners some tips on how to promote eco-friendly practices. PTO members from different regions collaborated to promote composting, gardening, and waste reduction initiatives.

Tree planting activity for Earth Day in remembrance of our Ivies Beyond the Wall.

Over 80+ trees were donated/planted in 2023 to date and 150+ by the year end.

Advocate for Social Justice – Partnered with local Divine Nine chapters to ‘Get out the Vote’ through a targeted social media campaign, mobilizing expatriate and US-based voters to participate in the democratic program raising voting awareness among American expatriates in South Africa. PTO used Soror Squads to mobilize Georgia voters for the Senate runoff by providing voter education and registration information and mobilizing voters through phone calls and text messages increasing voter turnout in the Georgia Senate runoff election by providing voter education, registration information, and mobilizing voters through phone calls and text messages.

Uplift our Local Communities Pink Drive, and Pink goes Pink Beyond Borders partnered to hold the first-ever Breast Cancer mobile screening in the Diepsloot Township with funding from AKAs covering screening costs. The event provided mammograms, cancer screenings,, clinical breast exam, and education, filling a gap in healthcare and increasing access to vital services.

PTO partnered with the Order of St. John to sponsor CPR training for 22 young adults in multiple EduFun programs in Diepsloot Township.

International Menstrual Health Day (May 28) in our sister squad locations of Johannesburg (South Africa), Cape Town (South Africa), Kigali (Rwanda) and Lilongwe (Malawi). This initiative has the goal of empowering women to embrace their menstrual cycle through good hygiene and health. Over 400 girls and young women were given sanitary pads, essential items (journals, mirrors, snacks), and informational flyers with information about what a menstrual health cycle is and how to promote good hygiene in the four cities in African countries. donated items to this event.

Together with our Membership Experience Committee and held a “Pinkies and Pearls” dinner at the USAG Humphreys Golf Course where all Sorors in South Korea were invited to fellowship with each other.During our Founder’s Day Celebration weekend, our committee hosted a community tea and invited non-chapter members to join us as we honored our founders and highlighted our chapter’s accomplishments in the community.

Empower our Families-YLI provided opportunities for the children to develop and enhance their leadership skills.

Through workshops, seminars, and interactive activities, participants learned about leadership styles, effective communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork.

Mental Health Playing Mental Health Jeopardy during Mental Health Awareness Month and having a Mental Health Professional address the chapter on Suicide Prevention Month both had a positive impact on chapter members by increasing awareness, reducing stigma, fostering empathy, promoting self-care, and strengthening teamwork.

Build our Economic Wealth In Supporting Women Entrepreneurs, Rho Nu Omega developed, compiled, and circulated two lists, one with women small business owners in the local area and another dedicated list solely for black women entrepreneurs to share with the local community.

During Black Dollar Days in June our chapter supported a variety of Black Owned Businesses not just in our local community, but also companies online, and in the United States. The purchases totaled over $5,000.

Enhance Our Environment On Earth Day 2023, Rho Nu Omega Chapter participated in their first annual “Tree Planting Project” event on April 15, 2023.

Community and Home Gardens: On April 29, 2023 Building this community garden in our military community has a positive effect on all members of the community.

Waste Reduction: In support of Global Recycling Day March 2023, Rho Nu Omega Chapter partnered with Daegu Elementary School to promote reduce, reuse, and recycle with an Elementary Recycle War. Social Justice: In Feb Rho Nu Omega recognized World Day of Social Justice was commemorated on February 20th.

Uplift Our Local Community Committee has been of service throughout the Korean Peninsula from the beginning of the year with plans to close out with superior service to our good neighbors here in Korea. In January, Sorors donated supplies and packed care bags to aid the homeless population through the treacherous winter weather. In April, Sorors reached out to DODEA high schools throughout Korea to support seniors afford prom dresses for a magical night filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Throughout the fall, the committee has worked with local organizations to organize and successfully conduct a Breast Cancer Awareness 5K, Family Trunk or Treat, and Korean Thankfulness Celebration. This winter our chapter plans to serve Thanksgiving meals to the local community and support the local orphanage with donations and holiday cheer.

Providing dry goods, diapers, wipes and food to those in need.

April 2023 coordinated efforts to support the children at the Sunkook Orphange with snack, clothing, shoes, and cleaning supplies.

These community collaboration projects have a significant positive impact by addressing various needs within the community, including homelessness, military support, food insecurity, and the well-being of orphaned children.

Chapter Events/Special Programs (including NPHC activities): Back to school bookbag drive with the Masons’ Eastern Stars and D9 community August 2023. As a member of Rho Nu Omega, this partnership with the Divine Nine community on service projects greatly impacts the military community during a back-to-school backpack drive. The collaboration amplifies our collective reach and resources, enabling a more substantial and effective outreach effort.

Fundraising Activities & Successes-Fundraising: October 22, 2022, and September 16, 2023, JAZZ & JEANS 2022 was an elegant evening, featuring Live Jazz, Light hors d’oeuvre’s, Elevated Conversation. These fundraisers generated $ 5840.00 and $7345.00 to use towards scholarships and community programs Gift Wrapping: Gift Wrapping with the AKAs. Dec 2022. This fundraiser generated $1600.00 to support EAF.Poppin Popcorn Online Fundraiser Feb-March 2023. Proceeds support scholarships and community programs! Recruitment and Reactivation Founders’ Day- During Founders’ Day 2023 Rho Nu Omega hosted reactivation activities thought the entire weekend. Inviting Sorors within the community to celebrate and serve our local community together.In August 2023, Rho Nu Omega hosted Pinkies and Pearls reactivation event, inviting all members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc on the peninsula to join us for some sisterly fun as we strengthen our bond and invite sorors to join Rho Nu Omega.

Soror Carrie J. Clark currently serves as the International Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.

She was installed in the role during the 70th Boule in Orlando, Florida in July 2022 following the appointment of Supreme Basileus Soror Danette Anthony Reed. She also served as the 29th Great Lakes Regional Director from 2018-2022.

Soror Carrie was initiated into Xi Chapter at Eastern Michigan University in 1987. She is a proud Life Member and a Silver Star with 36 years of committed service in the sorority. Soror Carrie transitioned from undergrad into Lambda Pi Omega Chapter, in Detroit, Michigan and has been a dedicated member ever since. She has held many leadership positions within the sorority.

On the chapter level, Carrie has served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, Historian, Member Liaison, Ivy Leaf Reporter and Parliamentarian. She also has served on numerous committees as either a chairman or member including the 2008 Metropolitan Chapters Centennial Founders’ Day celebration, Art in the Park, and Lambda Pi Omega’s “Fabulous at Forty” Anniversary celebration in September 2017. In addition, she served as the President of the Pearls of Promise Foundation.

Regionally, she served on the Centennial Committee and Programs Committee as the 2003 Michigan Cluster Chairman and the General Chairman of the 81st Great Lakes Regional Conference in 2012. On the International level, Soror Carrie served on the Heritage Committee, International Membership Committee, and Undergraduate Transition Taskforce. During her previous term on the Directorate, Soror Carrie was Chairman of the Sorority’s Code of Ethics Committee, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and was the Directorate liaison to the Sanctions and Investigations Committees and chaired Soror Eva L. Evans, 24th Supreme Basileus virtual memorial tribute.

Currently, Soror Carrie is the Director of the IT Operations Department which includes the following teams: Project Management Office (PMO), IT Service Management Applications, ITAM and IT Service Management Business Relationship at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, since 1995 Soror Carrie has been an adjunct professor at Detroit area universities teaching in the areas of information technology and project management. She has received numerous sorority and professional awards including the Chapter of the Year award, Basileus of the Year award, DRIVEN award, the PMO of the Year finalist award and she was named a 2015 Michigan Chronicle Woman of Excellence, Eastern Michigan University Distinguished Alumni Award, Women of the Word Excellence Award, and Black Alumni Eastern Elite Award. Soror Carrie holds BA and MSA degrees and currently is working on her second Master of Science in Health Administration. Soror Carrie possesses certifications as a PMP, SCRUM Master, ITIL, and CPM to name a few.

She has many affiliations and memberships including the Project Management Institute (Great Lakes Chapter), American Heart Association – Go Red Passion Committee, an Associate of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, served as a former board member for the Youth Development Commission (YDC) and The Great Lakes (MI) Chapter of the Links, Inc. Soror Carrie is a member of Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit and is very blessed and thankful to have the support of her beautiful family — her husband, Mark of over 27 years of marriage, and two handsome sons (Ian Marc Clark and Noah Stone Clark).

Mark and Ian are active members of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Ian graduated in 2019 from Michigan State University, and Noah graduated from the University of Toledo in 2022.

CLARINE SIMPSON VAUGHN Soror Clarine Simpson Vaughn was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Omicron Iota chapter in April 1988 beginning her lifelong service to Alpha Kappa Alpha. With a passion for leadership and service, she received the Janet Jones Ballard Undergraduate of the Year award in the Mid-Atlantic Region. At the graduate level, she was one of two sorors instrumental in mobilizing members in Loudoun County Virginia to form an interest group that would lead to the chartering of Psi Rho Omega chapter on June 30, 2012. She served as the 1st Vice President for both the interest group and chapter for a combined four (4) years before repatriating to her native Liberia in 2013 and joining the first international chapter of our sorority.

In Eta Beta Omega, she has served as Historian, Ivy Leaf Reporter, 1st Vice President and a 2-term President winning the Regional Director’s award for Outstanding Chapter Operations in 2021. She currently serves as the Parliamentarian and the Local Community Initiative Lead implementing a triRegional program to "End Period Poverty" in Liberia. This initiative was spotlighted in the award winning Twenty Pearls documentary. Soror Clarine is also the 2022 Outstanding Graduate Soror for the International Region.

Professionally, she is a founding partner, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Africabio Enterprises, Inc. a Liberian-AKA woman-owned, management consulting firm that complements relationships and expertise in health systems, agribusiness, and biotechnology in Africa with horizontal services in organization and leadership development. She was recently appointed as the CEO for CelebrateLAB® West Africa a non-profit established to convene the annual meeting for medical laboratory professionals, researchers, regulators, and policy makers who play a vital role in highlighting research and diagnostics across the West Africa region. She is an organizational development professional with expertise in strategy, process improvement, leadership coaching and training.

Soror Olubukola (Bukky) George-Taylor is a strategic communications expert, public speaker, and entrepreneurial coach.

She is the founder of Robert Taylor Media, a 15-year-old strategic communications agency based in Nigeria, and co-founder of Africa’s 1st Tourism App, CRAWL AFRICA. Soror Bukky is skilled in Public Relations, Media Relations, Crisis Management, New Market Entry, Corporate Comms, Personal Branding, Campaign Building and more. Her work has seen her represent a diverse portfolio of local and international clients such as Estee lauder, M.A.C Cosmetics, Walt Disney Africa, Moet Hennessy, British Petroleum, Intellics, Flutterwave, iFitness, ONE Campaign and more.

With a passion for positive African storytelling, Bukky is one of the Directors of the Lagos Today Newspaper. A digital newspaper sharing stories, sights, and sounds from Africa’s Metropolitan City … Lagos. With a love for lifestyle and luxury, Bukky is the Director for Strategic Partnerships of The Luxury Network Nigeria, a global affinity marketing group giving a strong platform that offers visibility and growth for African Luxury Brands.

MALIZ MAHOP Soror Maliz Mahop is a Global Communication Strategist whose career experiences lie in the fields of public diplomacy, marketing partnerships, and media/entertainment. Her professional training in North America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Jamaica, and Cuba has given her global insight and has made her a cultured storytelling practitioner for diverse audiences. Soror Maliz attained her Masters’ of Science in Global Strategic Communication and a concentration in Digital Media Storytelling at Loyola University Chicago. She is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Public Diplomacy at the University of Southern California.

Soror Maliz Mahop was initiated in the Spring of 2014 in the Illustrious Iota Upsilon Chapter at Syracuse University. In her undergraduate career, she held the positions of Hodegos, 40th Anniversary Chair, Social Media Chair, and Chaplin. On an international level, she was named a 2015 Leadership Fellow and was published by the 2015 Spiritual Oversight Committee for her submission of “My Sorority Prayer” which has been recited at chapter meetings and international conferences across the globe.

After graduating, Soror Maliz served on the 67th Boule Programs Committee, Xi Theta Omega Chapter in Arlington, Texas, and the South Central Regional Communications Committee. She currently serves the Alpha Alpha Omega Omega Chapter in Lagos, Nigeria as the Ivy Leaf Reporter, Awards Chairman, and Programs Committee Member.

In 2023, she was appointed by Madame Regional Director, Carrie J. Clark as the Pacific Cluster Chairman.

MISTI-DAWN CURRY

Soror Misti-Dawn Curry is a charter and current member of Omega Theta Omega Chapter who has resided in the United Arab Emirates for a decade in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Following Boule, she was appointed as the International Regional Representative to the International Program Committee.

In 2004, Soror Misti-Dawn was initiated in Beta Xi Omega Chapter in Tuskegee, Alabama. Since then, she has served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, Anti-Pecunious Grammateus, Epistoleus, Standards Chairman, Technology Co-Chairman, and Hospitality Chairman in Omega Theta Omega Chapter.

Regionally, she has served as the Pacific Cluster Coordinator and as a member of the Minutes, EAF, and Protocol Committees.

A native of Tuskegee, Alabama, Soror Misti-Dawn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Tuskegee University and Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy Specialization from Lesley University. After 17 years as an educator, she now works as an Educational Consultant and Trainer in Dubai, UAE.

BEVERLY FIELDS Beverly Ann Fields, Esq., PRP is from Washington, DC. She attended Howard University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1989) and worked in the Ship Systems Practice of Booz Allen Hamilton. She attended Howard University’s School of Law earning a Juris Doctor cum laude (1994) and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and D.C. and MD State Bars. Ms. Fields holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Villanova University. She serves as Chief of Staff to the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Within Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, she served as Basileus, International Investment Committee member and, currently, International Connection and Social Action Chairman. Ms. Fields’ memberships include: The Links, Incorporated; National Association of Parliamentarians (Professional Registered Parliamentarian); American Institute of Parliamentarians; and National Brotherhood of Snowsports (Attorney/Parliamentarian). She is a classical pianist, advanced skier, certified scuba diver and road cyclist.

TEKEA A. SAUNDERS Soror Tekea Saunders, was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, in 2004 through Sigma Xi Omega Chapter. She is a HBCU graduate and an IT Senior Level professional with over 20 years of experience.

Within her chapter, she has served in various executive capacities. Regionally, she served as the 26th IRC Registration Chair, 29th IRC Time and Place Chair, 30th International Region Conference Chair, 31st IRC Resolutions Chair and served as the International Region’s inaugural Atlantic Cluster Coordinator.

Nationally, she serves as the International Regional Representative to the International Nominating Committee. Her motto is to lead with love and live to serve!

MARCELLE YHAPP Soror Marcelle G. Yhap was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated’s Mu Iota Chapter in San Diego, California in Spring of 2007.

Serving in a small chapter gave her the opportunity to learn the many facets of the organization quickly.

Originally born in Liberia, West Africa she curated her career in education with the intention of moving back home and serving her country. After receiving her master’s in Education from the University of Southern California in 2014, Soror Marcelle returned to Liberia after being away for 25 years. In 2020, she completely relocated to Liberia and joined the infamous first international chapter, the Eta Beta Omega Chapter.

She became 1st Anti-Basileus in 2021, served the International Philactor Committee during the 2022 International Regional Conference and is currently the International Regional Coordinator for the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation. She loves running programs especially geared toward education advancement.

SHANDA SIMMONS Soror Shanda was initiated into Gamma Mu Chapter at Alabama A&M University spring 1985. With 38 years of committed service and sisterhood she is a proud life member and silver star. Upon graduation she returned home to Bermuda and in 1990 was one of 19 charter members of Sigma Xi Omega Chapter.

As a dedicated charter member Soror Shanda has held numerous leadership positions within the chapter. She has served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, Ivy Leaf Reporter, Membership Chairman, Compliance Officer, Parliamentarian and Grammateus. Throughout the years she has served on many committees and is currently the chapters Protocol and Rituals Committee Chairman and most recently the Co-Chairman of the chapter’s Youth Leadership Institute.

Regionally, she served as one of the Vice-Chairman of the 2021 Virtual International Regional Conference. She is currently the International Region’s Rituals Chairman.

Soror Shanda is the first-place winner of the 2023 Outstanding Silver Soror award. and her grandchildren, Malik and Sy’Aire.

ODUOLA OSUNLOYE Soror Oduolayinka is a dynamic development professional with diverse experience in education and women's development. She collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic business objectives.

Presently, she serves as the Africa Forward Program Lead at Catalyst 2030, where she spearheads the creation and implementation of innovative programs and public relations campaigns that bring about positive change for social innovators across the African continent.

Her passion lies in public policy and social impact, and she is dedicated to shaping policies that can improve the lives of women, children, and youth while enhancing education and employment opportunities throughout Africa. Over the years, she has taken a lead role in projects related to women's rights, education, politics, and youth empowerment in Nigeria. Oduolayinka firmly believes that African problems can be best addressed with African solutions and that, collectively, we are the change we've been waiting for.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Global Politics from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. During her time there, in the Fall of 2008, she became a member of the Zeta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.. Currently, she is a charter member of the Alpha Alpha Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, where she serves as the Gramateus.

BANTI C. ZEHYOUE Soror Banti C. Zehyoue was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Phi Sigma Omega Chapter, Gonzales, Louisiana in Spring 2004. A native of Monrovia, Liberia, Soror Banti survived the civil war and relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her parents in 1991.

Soror Banti is an HBCU (Southern University) graduate. Soror Banti is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a doctoral candidate at Kennesaw State University in International Conflict Management. Soror Banti frequents between the United States and Liberia, where she has been a member of Eta Beta Omega chapter, the 1st chapter in the International region, since January 2017.

She is the current Historian.

In her 19 years of service, Soror Banti has served as an Ivy Leaf Reporter, Philacter, Epistoleus, 2nd Anti Basileus and worked with the international protocol committee during the 2022 international regional conference. She is the mother of two sons, Stephen-Eden and Benjamin-Asher.

UGONNA IBE EJIOGU

Soror Ugonna Ibe-Ejiogu is a Nigerian-American curator, gallerist, art advisor, designer, environmental activist and philantropist. She is the founder & Director of Yenwa Gallery and most recently served as the Director of the Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria (GFA).

In 2022, she was selected for The Studio Museum in Harlem’s Museum Professionals Seminar where her research is focused on new collaborative practices to bring archival information to the public. She holds a certificate in Art History from Sotheby’s Institute of Art. During the same year, she was the inaugural Artistic Director for NXT.ART, a physical art fair and conversation series held at Landmark Event Center, Lagos, Nigeria. In 2019, she was selected to conceptualise, plan and execute the first UAE-Nigeria Cultural & Arts Exhibition hosted by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. Previously she served as Head Curator at Terra Kulture Art Gallery. one of the oldest galleries in Nigeria, where she was instrumental in bringing back the TKMG Lagos Art Auction from its hiatus. She planned, coordinated and curated the 2018 edition, featuring 65 artists and 76 works and established the auction’s first emerging artist competition.

As an independent curator, she has advised various institutions, art fairs and private collections. She has also consulted on art direction and wardrobe for film & TV, titles of which can be found on Netflix & Showmax. Ugonna is the founder and creative director of Cinnamon Lagos, a sustainable clothing brand that has featured in Lagos Fashion Week (LFW) & Africa Fashion Week New York (AFWNY). She is the Vice President of the Alpha Alpha Omega Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

TOYIN AKINDE Soror Toyin Akinde is currently the Managing Director at Page Asset Management Ltd. She has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and over 16 years specifically in the Asset Management industry. She has experience in managing Ultra High Net Worth Individual and High Net Worth Individual relationships, ensuring clients’ investment portfolios are optimally structured, sourcing new business and developing strategies and new products to deepen relationships with clients. She is a Certified Wealth Manager.

Soror Toyin has a B.A. Economics from Baylor University, Waco TX, USA and an M.A Financial Economics from State University of New York in Albany, NY, USA. Her hobbies include reading, traveling and meeting new people.

She joined the Illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in the Spring term of 2000 at the Pi Mu Chapter at Baylor University. She is currently the Percunious Grammateus at Alpha Alpha Omega Omega Chapter.
