As the Atlantic Cluster Coordinator, it is with great excitement that we welcome you to the 2023 Atlantic Cluster Conference in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

For some of you, this may be your first Cluster Conference - and for some of you it may be your first visit to Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Your participation at today’s Cluster is much appreciated as we continue to learn, grow, and Soar in our chapters, the International Region, and Alpha Kappa Alpha.

This year’s Cluster theme “Embracing the Diversity of Global Sisterhood” exemplifies the uniqueness and culture within our region that will elevate our Cluster and chapters for the betterment of our sisterhood.

I thank every Soror who donated $19.08 towards the Cluster Service Project. Your donation will provide over 200 CHIPP power pack meals for children attending Holmes Rock Primary School in Freeport, Grand Bahama. As we reflect on your chapter’s successes, please continue to do all the great things you are doing in your chapter. Madam Regional Director, Carrie J. Clark and I are proud of your accomplishments.

Grand Bahama developed from an isolated hideaway for buccaneers into this beautiful idyllic paradise it is today, largely as a result of our most priceless assets, our people. The local residents offer friendly faces, hospitality unmatched, and most importantly Bahamian pride.

Pi Upsilon Omega continues to espouse the values of Alpha Kappa Alpha by soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood and exhibiting love, care, and compassion in our programs in the Grand Bahama community. As such, we gladly welcome you to our shores where together we will paint the town pink and green, the Alpha Kappa Alpha way, and embrace our diversity, while simultaneously representing our illustrious sisterhood. Together, we will learn more about each other as we pack bags for the CHIPPS program, which will ensure children in Grand Bahama have healthy, nutritious meals on the weekend.

Greetings Sorors, Welcome to the beautiful Grand Bahama Island! We are thrilled to have you all here, embracing the diversity of global sisterhood.

Grand Bahama is the fourth-largest island in The Bahamas and is renowned for its stunning white-sand beaches, crystal waters, and vibrant marine life. It’s a true haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers – home to one of the world’s largest underwater cave systems at Lucayan National Park.

Grand Bahama also boasts a thriving industrial sector that plays a significant role in the local economy.

Despite its challenges over the years, the island's resilience and commitment to rebuilding is second to none.

As we dive into the theme of Embracing the Diversity of Global Sisterhood, we welcome all sorors from Chapters in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Canada, and Nassau, Bahamas. Let us all be inspired by and draw inspiration from the diverse and vibrant culture of Grand Bahama Island.

The International Region is excited to join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s strong history of supporting and servicing families, for we understand a healthy family is the foundation of a healthy community. We are committed to a multi-generational approach to fortify families within our communities by addressing child hunger and promoting positive youth development and leadership, mental well-being, and senior life.

Our region-wide cluster service area of focus is the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP™). AKA CHIPP provides weekend and holiday meals for children within local communities and is targeted to be Alpha Kappa Alpha’s most ambitious childhood hunger program to date.

Through the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP), Pi Upsilon Omega (the host chapter) provides weekend meals for 50 children attending Holmes Rock Primary School, a very small, public school in the quaint community of Holmes Rock in west Grand Bahama, The Bahamas.

The students enrolled in CHIPP have met the requirements for the Government of The Bahamas' National School Feeding Program and receive meals Mondays through Fridays, with CHIPP filling in the gap on weekends. The total population of the Holmes Rock community was last reported to be less than 9,000 residents. The students are from low-income families and many are being raised by extended family members because their parents are not able to care for them.

Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter, actively involved in the Atlantic Cluster of the Sorority's International Region will use this as the capstone for expanding the CHIPP program on the island and hope that other Chapters can use it as a model. The donations of $19.08 will be the start of helping to provide 2,400 powerpacks annually, feeding 50 underprivileged children, improving their health and expanding their opportunities.

Regional Chapter Awards at IRC 2023: Global Spotlight Award (Soror Tashina Harrow) Program Highlights: Taking Care of our Roots Black Haircare drive collected and donated over 100 haircare supplies to Rosalie Hall, an organization that assists young parents in need and their children to realize their potential through the provision of a wide range of community, residential, educational and child development services.

AADO engaged in a number of sister squads, encouraging sorors to connect over common interests including visits to the spa, watch parties, decor and more.

Community Collaboration/Projects: AADO has collaborated with Rosalie Hall, Blackhurst Cultural Centre, and Children's Book Bank.

Uplift Our Local Community - Made an impact in the community through the serving the children at Ridgeland Primary School Community Collaboration/Projects - Under Uplift Our Local Community We partnered with the Salvation Army and served breakfast to the people in the local community.

Christian and Soror Serita Christian SGA President – Soror Tamia Grant Biomedical Scholars Summer Undergraduate Research Program – Soror La’Quan Reid Program Highlights Strengthen Our Sisterhood - Rho Omicron has formed three -Soror Squads -Health & Wellness, Book Club, and Self-Care.

Random Acts of Kindness- The chapter took out a full page ad for one of our Graduate Sorors who was very instrumental in assisting with our ME Service Project. The Graduate Advisor supported Soror Serita by attending her UVI graduation, none of her relatives including her parents could attend due to immigration and flight challenges. She was also presented with a gift she always wanted by the chapter.

The Graduate Advisor, Soror Anise Hodge also attended the President's Deans List Recognition Program in support of Soror Quianna and Soror Serita, they were also presented with small chapter gifts of appreciation.

Community Collaboration/Projects - On March 19, 2023, the chapter participated in the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) annual fundraising event, “Afternoon On The Green” at the Herman E. Moore Golf Course on St. Thomas. The island’s talented cooks donated their best dishes for a great cause. The event, which benefits the Edward Thomas Volunteer Scholarship Fund, has been a community favorite for more than 30 years, combining great food, live entertainment and family fun to support scholarships for deserving students.

Chapter Events/Special Programs (including NPHC activities) On November 5, 2022, Rho Omicron, along with other Greeks, participated in the UVI HBCU Basketball Homecoming Greek Night. The chapter hosted an AKA table with AKA paraphernalia and other items to raise awareness a bout the sorority and the Divine 9. Sponsoring Graduate Chapter Sorors were asked to assist with donating items and to also attend the games.

Regional Chapter Awards at IRC 2023 2nd place Outstanding Graduate Soror - (Soror Anise Hodge) 1st place Outstanding Graduate Program Exhibit Program Highlights Environmental Initiative (2022) - Sigma Theta Omega participated in a region-wide service project in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We cleaned two beaches, Vessup Beach on St. Thomas and Cruz Bay Beach on St. John, VI. Sorors came together at a simultaneous time and were able to collect 10 bags of debris between both islands.

Black Family Hike 2022 Empowering Families - Sigma Theta Omega Chapter conducted the Black Family Hike initiative on the island of St. John. Sorors invited their family and friends to a day of bonding, team/family games, creating connections outside of the chapter business, and celebrating the black family. All attendees participated in a hike through one of St. John's many trails and then participated in games and enjoyed the Ivy-Q(BBQ). We had about 50 people in attendance.

Plant, Growing, and Soaring to Enhance our Environment (April 2023) - STO participated in a tree planting activity on the island of St. John at Gift Hill School. We joined with the students of their Environmental Club to plant three (3) trees on their campus. Six (6) Sorors traveled to the school and joined with the students and planted two (2) trees on their lower campus in their garden and donated the other tree to be planted on the upper campus.

CHIPP - Sigma Theta Omega started our CHIPP initiative in 2023.

We are serving two daycares (one on each island) with a total of 29 students. Sigma Theta Omega drops off power packs on Fridays to the centers.

Scholarship Donations - Sigma Theta Omega Chapter issued four (4) Gertrude Lockhard Melchoir scholarships at the end of the 22-23 School year to three very deserving students. Brianna Lawrence and Mariella Stout received $500.00 each in book scholarships. Taezha Maduro and Maia Sinclair Toloud received $1500.00 each in full scholarships; a total of $4000.00 was distributed.

Two are attending HBCUs and the other two attending private institutions.

Recruitment and Reactivations Galtine's 2023 - Sigma Theta Omega had its first Galentine's event. Sorors got together to participate in fun team-building exercises and enjoy each other company during the season of love. Sorors in the chapter were challenged to invite one inactive soror to the event.

We had three inactive sorors and 20 STO sorors in attendance. This was a joint activity with membership and sisterly relations.

International and/or Regional Positions: IRegional Chapter Awards at IRC 2023 – Most Outstanding Undergraduate Soror (Soror Marshell Bain) 1st place Outstanding Graduate Program Exhibit Program Highlights - Tau Nu Enhanced Our Environment initiative beautifying Junkanoo Beach in honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day. April was Earth month and this gave the chapter an opportunity to work along with the Eta Psi Omega Chapter (Supervising Graduate Chapter) and plant trees at a local primary school.

We uplifted the community by having a bubble break. The chapter spoke to students about stress management and coping with stress. We ended the session by taking a break to blow bubbles and listen to fun music. Students truly enjoyed this initiative because it allowed them to take a minute for themselves as well as prioritize mental health.

Community Collaboration/Projects - Tau Nu collaborated with Bosom Buddies in October of 2022 for breast cancer awareness. The chapter donated special goodie bags and water to persons who came for mammograms.

Chapter Events/Special Programs (including NPHC activities) Anti-hazing week, the last week in September, Tau Nu brought awareness to anti-hazing with the intention of preventing hazing.

We affirmed with our signatures that these pearls don't haze.

We also presented to students on hazing and got them involved.

NPHC held an event during anti-hazing week, a movie night at school. NPHC also held a leadership seminar for Greek organizations and Greek 101 at the start of Fall 2023.

Fundraising Activities & Successes: In the month of September, Tau Nu held a fundraising event named Too Turnt Thursday in collaboration with the NPHC. Each Greek organization served as a vendor and raised funds for their respective chapters.

Tau Nu sold Ooh soo cheesy nachos and Pretty Pink Lemonade at both events.

Scholarship Donations: $300 Recruitment and Reactivations: 14 new members were initiated into Tau Nu Spring 2023. Sisterly relation activities include movie night, a Chapter dinner at JWB restaurant, and an exercise that included the chapter reflecting and writing something nice about each soror.

Soror Carrie J. Clark currently serves as the International Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.

She was installed in the role during the 70th Boule in Orlando, Florida in July 2022 following the appointment of Supreme Basileus Soror Danette Anthony Reed. She also served as the 29th Great Lakes Regional Director from 2018-2022.

Soror Carrie was initiated into Xi Chapter at Eastern Michigan University in 1987. She is a proud Life Member and a Silver Star with 36 years of committed service in the sorority. Soror Carrie transitioned from undergrad into Lambda Pi Omega Chapter, in Detroit, Michigan and has been a dedicated member ever since. She has held many leadership positions within the sorority.

On the chapter level, Carrie has served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, Historian, Member Liaison, Ivy Leaf Reporter and Parliamentarian. She also has served on numerous committees as either a chairman or member including the 2008 Metropolitan Chapters Centennial Founders’ Day celebration, Art in the Park, and Lambda Pi Omega’s “Fabulous at Forty” Anniversary celebration in September 2017. In addition, she served as the President of the Pearls of Promise Foundation.

Regionally, she served on the Centennial Committee and Programs Committee as the 2003 Michigan Cluster Chairman and the General Chairman of the 81st Great Lakes Regional Conference in 2012. On the International level, Soror Carrie served on the Heritage Committee, International Membership Committee, and Undergraduate Transition Taskforce. During her previous term on the Directorate, Soror Carrie was Chairman of the Sorority’s Code of Ethics Committee, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and was the Directorate liaison to the Sanctions and Investigations Committees and chaired Soror Eva L. Evans, 24th Supreme Basileus virtual memorial tribute.

Currently, Soror Carrie is the Director of the IT Operations Department which includes the following teams: Project Management Office (PMO), IT Service Management Applications, ITAM and IT Service Management Business Relationship at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, since 1995 Soror Carrie has been an adjunct professor at Detroit area universities teaching in the areas of information technology and project management. She has received numerous sorority and professional awards including the Chapter of the Year award, Basileus of the Year award, DRIVEN award, the PMO of the Year finalist award and she was named a 2015 Michigan Chronicle Woman of Excellence, Eastern Michigan University Distinguished Alumni Award, Women of the Word Excellence Award, and Black Alumni Eastern Elite Award. Soror Carrie holds BA and MSA degrees and currently is working on her second Master of Science in Health Administration. Soror Carrie possesses certifications as a PMP, SCRUM Master, ITIL, and CPM to name a few.

She has many affiliations and memberships including the Project Management Institute (Great Lakes Chapter), American Heart Association – Go Red Passion Committee, an Associate of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, served as a former board member for the Youth Development Commission (YDC) and The Great Lakes (MI) Chapter of the Links, Inc. Soror Carrie is a member of Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit and is very blessed and thankful to have the support of her beautiful family — her husband, Mark of over 27 years of marriage, and two handsome sons (Ian Marc Clark and Noah Stone Clark).

Mark and Ian are active members of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Ian graduated in 2019 from Michigan State University, and Noah graduated from the University of Toledo in 2022.

LISA MITCHELL-HARRIS Lisa Mitchell-Harris is a native of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Soror Lisa is a graduate of Morris Brown College, and was initiated into Gamma Gamma Chapter in 2002. Soror Lisa has held many leadership positions within the sorority. On the Regional Level, she served as Rules Committee Chair, served on the Programs Committee, Protocol Committee, and Atlantic Cluster Committee.

On the Chapter Level, she served as Graduate Advisor for seven terms, AntiBasileus/Program Chair, Membership Chair, EAF Captain and is currently serving as Chapter Basileus of Mu Gamma Omega and International Region Atlantic Cluster Coordinator. Soror Lisa previously obtained the International Region Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award, EAF Individual Award, Chapter Soror of the Year Award, and recently Second Place of the International Region Outstanding Basileus Award. Soror Lisa completed several Alpha Kappa Alpha certification programs, to include the most recent Membership Experience Certification.

Soror Lisa is currently employed as a Paralegal at the Government of the Virgin Islands, Economic Development Authority. Soror Lisa is also a Board Member of the Virgin Islands State Board PTA and Vice President of the PTA at her kids school.

Soror Lisa is a proud parent of three (3) children, Akil, Jr.; Anthony; and Ashley.

ADRIA ALBURY

Adria hails from Kingsway Academy and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in psychology at the University of the Bahamas. Her ambitions know no bounds, as she set her sights on earning two master's degrees in forensic and fashion psychology.

During her time at the University of the Bahamas, Adria discovered her true calling and a sense of belonging within the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated undergraduate chapter. In the spring of 2023, she was inducted in the 14 karats of kandescent Pearlfection line, and now serves as the Ivy Leaf Reporter, FAE Chair, and Enhance Our Environment Chair.

Beyond her academic and sorority commitments, Adria is a seasoned pageant veteran of four titles and generously shares her expertise by mentoring aspiring young ladies in the realms of pageantry and modeling. When she’s not busy, you can find Adria indulging in her passions for singing, dancing, research, and exploring new destinations.

YVONNE PEARSON

Soror Yvonne is a member of Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas since its initiation in May 2017. She held several positions including Hodegos, Chaplain, 1st Anti-Basileus (where the chapter won 1st place Outstanding Graduate Chapter Program Award for the International Region) and presently Basileus. She served on several committees including Sisterly Relations, Membership, International Day of Prayer and currently on the International Spiritual Wellbeing Committee under the current administration.

Yvonne is a long-time member of The Pro-Cathedral of Christ The King Freeport, The Bahamas and a member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW), having held several positions including President, Vice President and currently Secretary.

Yvonne retired in 2019 after 47 years as an educator with the Ministry of Education in The Bahamas teaching Family and Consumer Science, Home Economics and Catering and Business Education; spending the last 12 years in administration as Senior Mistress.

Presently she supervises the “Lord’s Kitchen” a Ministry at church where they feed approximately 500 persons weekly.

A widow, with two children and three grandchildren, Yvonne spends her free time travelling with her sisters (2 of whom are also sorors) and grandchildren, reading, and cooking.

RASHEMA INGRAHAM Grand Bahamian by birth, descendant of a fisherman from the island of Bimini, and an ambassador for an ocean nation.

It was her late grandfather who opened her eyes to the water-world and nature at large, taking her into his self-made canoes when she was much younger to catch fish and conch for the night’s enjoyment. She leads Waterkeepers Bahamas, a licensed member organization of Waterkeeper Alliance advocating for fishable, swimmable and drinkable water for all. She finds peace and tranquility in or near the water, walking through quiet pine forest tracks, or just enjoying the sounds of waves crashing the shoreline. She likes to accompany and challenge her children, Xaria and Reece, to do more activities around the water.

One would wonder how she can masterfully balance her love for nature with that of her sorority. Joining Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., in 2021, she has embraced every moment to touch people and communities as an extension of the Sorority. She is certified as a SCUBA open water diver and has found a way to mix two of her loves, making an event out of having dives with a few of the local Divine 9 members who are also certified divers around her birthday. In 2019 she was honoured as one of the Bahamas’ 40 Most Successful and Influential Professionals and later in that year as one of 20 international Waterkeepers recognized by the Waterkeeper Alliance for their outstanding work in community and for the environment.

She currently serves as Standards Chairman and Second Anti-Basileus for Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter.

MISTI-DAWN CURRY

Soror Misti-Dawn Curry is a charter and current member of Omega Theta Omega Chapter who has resided in the United Arab Emirates for a decade in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Following Boule, she was appointed as the International Regional Representative to the International Program Committee.

In 2004, Soror Misti-Dawn was initiated in Beta Xi Omega Chapter in Tuskegee, Alabama. Since then, she has served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, Anti-Pecunious Grammateus, Epistoleus, Standards Chairman, Technology Co-Chairman, and Hospitality Chairman in Omega Theta Omega Chapter.

Regionally, she has served as the Pacific Cluster Coordinator and as a member of the Minutes, EAF, and Protocol Committees.

A native of Tuskegee, Alabama, Soror Misti-Dawn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Tuskegee University and Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy Specialization from Lesley University. After 17 years as an educator, she now works as an Educational Consultant and Trainer in Dubai, UAE.

BEVERLY FIELDS Beverly Ann Fields, Esq., PRP is from Washington, DC. She attended Howard University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1989) and worked in the Ship Systems Practice of Booz Allen Hamilton. She attended Howard University’s School of Law earning a Juris Doctor cum laude (1994) and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and D.C. and MD State Bars. Ms. Fields holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Villanova University. She serves as Chief of Staff to the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Within Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, she served as Basileus, International Investment Committee member and, currently, International Connection and Social Action Chairman. Ms. Fields’ memberships include: The Links, Incorporated; National Association of Parliamentarians (Professional Registered Parliamentarian); American Institute of Parliamentarians; and National Brotherhood of Snowsports (Attorney/Parliamentarian). She is a classical pianist, advanced skier, certified scuba diver and road cyclist.

TEKEA A. SAUNDERS Soror Tekea Saunders, was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, in 2004 through Sigma Xi Omega Chapter. She is a HBCU graduate and an IT Senior Level professional with over 20 years of experience.

Within her chapter, she has served in various executive capacities. Regionally, she served as the 26th IRC Registration Chair, 29th IRC Time and Place Chair, 30th International Region Conference Chair, 31st IRC Resolutions Chair and served as the International Region’s inaugural Atlantic Cluster Coordinator.

Nationally, she serves as the International Regional Representative to the International Nominating Committee. Her motto is to lead with love and live to serve!

ANISE I. HODGE For the past 16 years, Soror Anise has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was initiated on November 11, 2007, in Sigma Theta Omega Chapter of St. Thomas and St. John.

Since becoming a member of Sigma Theta Omega Chapter, Soror Anise has contributed wholeheartedly to the sisterhood and service programs of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She has served as the chairman of the chapters major fundraising event, the Generations of Excellence, for four years, assisting in facilitating the donation of funds for the Gertrude Lockhart Melchior Scholarship. Additionally, she has served as Sigma Theta Omega’s Basileus, AntiBasileus, Pecunious Grammateus, and Epistoleus. She has chaired the chapter’s Program, Scholarship, Membership, Connections and #CAP Committees, and has also served on its Executive, Finance, Sisterly Relations, MIP, Awards, Connections, Spiritual Oversight Committees.

On the Regional level, she chaired the 22nd International Regional Conference in San Francisco, California in 2012. From 2014-2018, Soror Anise served as the Assistant Tamiouchos to the International Region. On the International Level, from 2019-2022, she has represented the International Region as its representative to the International HBCU Taskforce, where she was instrumental in raising millions for accredited HBCUs. After serving several years on the Graduate Advisory Committee, she was elected to the position of Rho Omicron’s Graduate Advisor in 2021. At the 2022 and 2923 International Regional Conferences, she received the second-place award for Outstanding Graduate Advisor. She currently serves as the International Region EAF Committee Chairman.

SHANDA SIMMONS Soror Shanda was initiated into Gamma Mu Chapter at Alabama A&M University spring 1985. With 38 years of committed service and sisterhood she is a proud life member and silver star. Upon graduation she returned home to Bermuda and in 1990 was one of 19 charter members of Sigma Xi Omega Chapter.

As a dedicated charter member Soror Shanda has held numerous leadership positions within the chapter. She has served as Basileus, Anti-Basileus, Ivy Leaf Reporter, Membership Chairman, Compliance Officer, Parliamentarian and Grammateus. Throughout the years she has served on many committees and is currently the chapters Protocol and Rituals Committee Chairman and most recently the Co-Chairman of the chapter’s Youth Leadership Institute.

Regionally, she served as one of the Vice-Chairman of the 2021 Virtual International Regional Conference. She is currently the International Region’s Rituals Chairman.

Soror Shanda is the first-place winner of the 2023 Outstanding Silver Soror award. and her grandchildren, Malik and Sy’Aire.

ELVA SIMMONS-DAVIS Soror Elva Simmons-Davis is a native of Matthew Town Inagua, Bahamas. She is the third child of the late Morris & Maria Simmons. After graduating with honors from Grand Bahama Catholic High School in 1977, she received a volleyball scholarship to attend Indian River Community College, Fort Pierce, Florida. She then transitioned to Jackson State University, Jackson Mississippi, where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education.

Additionally, she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Gamma Rho Chapter in the fall of 1983. After graduation she returned to Grand Bahama, where she, along with her Alpha Kappa Alpha sisters, became founding members of Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter. She has continued to serve tirelessly as a member of Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter.

Being a sports fanatic, Soror Elva continued to participate in numerous sporting activities and volunteered to mentor the youth through sports. Her passion led her to being the co - founder of the Youth In Action Sports Organization, specializing in developing volleyball, baseball, basketball and soccer skills and for program participants to utilize their talents to obtain athletic scholarships.

Moreover, she is a Bahamas Amateur Athletic Association certified track and field coach and official, volunteering her time for the past 28 years. Elva is also the Grand Marshal for the 6 time champion junkanoo group, The Platinum Knights.

Currently, she is employed by the Ministry of Education as the Vice Principal of Jack Hayward Senior High School. When she is not volunteering, she is spending family time with her husband Lynden Davis Sr, her two daughters, Shenique and Liyah, son, Lynden Jr. and her grandchildren, Malik and Sy’Aire.

BANTI C. ZEHYOUE Soror Banti C. Zehyoue was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Phi Sigma Omega Chapter, Gonzales, Louisiana in Spring 2004. A native of Monrovia, Liberia, Soror Banti survived the civil war and relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her parents in 1991.

Soror Banti is an HBCU (Southern University) graduate. Soror Banti is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a doctoral candidate at Kennesaw State University in International Conflict Management. Soror Banti frequents between the United States and Liberia, where she has been a member of Eta Beta Omega chapter, the 1st chapter in the International region, since January 2017.

She is the current Historian.

In her 19 years of service, Soror Banti has served as an Ivy Leaf Reporter, Philacter, Epistoleus, 2nd Anti Basileus and worked with the international protocol committee during the 2022 international regional conference. She is the mother of two sons, Stephen-Eden and Benjamin-Asher.

ZOË GIBSON-BOWLEG Soror Zoë Gibson-Bowleg is a champion for the empowerment of individuals and organizations who create sustainable change in communities throughout The Bahamas. She lives out her passion to make a positive difference. As an Attorney and Real Estate Agent by profession, Soror Zoë thrives in dynamic professional and community organization environments, that enable her to showcase other talents in the areas of talent development, marketing and public relations and event management. Soror Zoë was called to both the Bars of England and Wales and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in 2014. Zoë joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in 2006 as a member of the greatest single letter chapter in all of the land – the Everloving and Everlastong Epsilon Chapter. She has been a committed member of Epsilon, Eta Psi Omega and Pi Upsilon Omega chapters holding a variety of positions. She is also a member of The Links, Incorporated. Soror Zoë’s involvement in both organizations affirm her lifelong commitment to helping and serving others.

Soror Zoë is married to Anthon Bowleg and together they have two children, Aamari and Amira. She is a proud dog mom, loves hot milk, cannot survive without making lists for herself and her happy place is anywhere in the middle of the ocean.

MIRA LIGHTBOURNE Soror Mira has been a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for 11 years. She is a charter member of the Transcendent Tau Nu Chapter in Nassau Bahamas and a member of Pi Upsilon Omega in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Soror Mira currently serves as the Vice Principal at Bishop Michael Eldon Primary School and works tirelessly to inspire the generation to have confidence in their everyday life. .
