For all who have loved and lost ...

Silent Tears I consider again the silence.

It is a space in time; a decade, just one half of a score.

I marvel at how I still long to tell you about my day.

To share those moments, the big ones, and the small.

To speak of nothing at all; The weather, a flower.

How a grandchild did this or that.

How I climbed a mountain or, just knitted a new hat.

I hope that as you look down you will see a different me.

Better than yesterday, not as good as tomorrow.

A little lost, torn, anxious, detached.

Still holding it all together.

Still growing towards becoming more.

I am at once divided, and yet, I have discovered a new complete.

So it is from within my silent tears, that I acknowledge my grief.

I dry my eyes, I continue on.

I look for the beauty that remains, and in looking I discover the wonder of this moment and in this, I allow gratitude to replenish my soul.
