Why Govern?
The government has important jobs to help keep our community safe and fair. One of their jobs is to establish order by making sure everyone follows the rules so things run smoothly. They also provide security by keeping us safe. Another big job is to manage conflict, which means helping people solve problems and disagreements in peaceful ways. We will examine the services the government provides to make sure we live in a safe and happy place!
Police Department
The police department provides law enforcement help to prevent crime. They also promote safety by protecting people and property in the community.
Library Services
The municipal (local) government supports public libraries. They provide books, research services, and resources. The community library is educational and entertaining.
Community Parks and Recreation
The government supports parks. They provide places for recreation and family gatherings, including swimming pools, playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, camping, and fishing venues.
Fire Department
The fire department helps with fires and car accidents. They protect life, property, and the environment.
Public Schools
Public schools are supported by government administration and tax dollars. They provide education to community members.
