Due to the importance of recent, most consistent evidence in determining the final semester score, AISC does not provide official mid-semester progress reports to universities.

All HS students participate in the robust Discovery Program (0.25 credit per school year) that focuses on experiential learning (week-long Discover India trip), inquiry, and reflection, while practicing and developing self-awareness, self-management, and healthy habits.





STANDARDS - BASED ASSESSMENT & REPORTING GRADING POLICY (SBAR)
(Since 2018-19 school year)
AISC follows standards-based assessment and reporting [SBAR]. Students receive feedback using a 1-8 achievement scale based on recent, most consistent evidence of their learning. At the end of each semester, students earn an overall score for each course based on the relative importance of the academic achievement strands in each course.

Knowledge & Understanding: The student recalls facts, terms, and definitions while also explaining concepts, ideas, process, themes and the like. The student learns and performs skills related to their studies.
Thinking and Transfer: The student plans for learning by formulating questions, generating ideas and researching. The student thinks about learning critically by analyzing, interpreting, evaluating and using other metacognitive skills. The student applies knowledge and skills to unfamiliar or new contexts.
Communication: The student expresses and organizes ideas in multiple forms. The student appropriately adapts communication to different audiences and forms. The student uses conventions, terminology and vocabulary relevant to the discipline.

7/8 - Exemplary knowledge/understanding. Highly effective thinking/transfer with the successful use of evidence to produce desired results. Highly precise and concise communication with the correct attention to the audience.
