Guiding Principles The aim of the school is the balanced development of mind, body and spirit through challenge, respect, responsibility, diversity and service. Aiglon students build close relationships with teaching staff through a tutorial system offering individualised counselling throughout their entire high school experience.

Overview Aiglon College was founded in 1949 by the British visionary, John Corlette, and is located 1170 metres above sea level in the Frenchspeaking village of Chesières in the Swiss Alps. We are an independent, non-profit organisation, strongly rooted in our alpine location. All students follow a programme of challenge including mountain expeditions in addition to their academic studies. Students in Years 12 & 13 follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB). We also administer examinations and certification schemes run by Edexcel, AQA, University of Cambridge International Examinations, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, the College Board and the International Award for Young People (the international arm of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme). Our student body comprises 375 students (50% boys and 50% girls), of whom 86% are boarders; students may start in the Junior School from the age of nine. Aiglon College has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) since 2000 and is a founding member of the Round Square association of schools.

Aiglon College is ranked as a “Global Top 50 IB School” based on the publicly available 2019 scores. From over 5,000 schools in 50 countries, Aiglon is the only Swiss school with this distinction. Source: www.ib-schools.com (October 2019)
