:: ATENEA aims at developing a common vision about future challenges and base technologies facing the three transversal dominions identified in the Strategic Agenda for Research in the Spanish platform PROMETEO: Architecture, Middleware and Method/Design Tools. The objective of this project is to approach the technical development in three strategic dominions involving a significant number of relevant members of the PROMETEO platform. As an additional objective, this project tries to optimize the synergetic efforts oriented towards a future participation in further European funded projects in this area. To this end, the members of the executive committee will lead the technical work packages. The impact of ATENEA will be reinforced by its close links to the PROMETEO technological platform, which is a mirror of the European Platform for Embedded Systems (ARTEMIS). The direct relation of ATENEA with the PROMETEO office will also facilitate its management. In this project AICIA focuses on the definition of new low-power architecture for embedded systems with wireless connectivity.

:: This project focuses on the technological platform on which the new electronic equipment in charge of field data acquisition and concentration (UTRs) will be based. These hardware and software platforms, based on embedded systems, constitute a critical component in a control system and have to be highly reliable, as they have to operate autonomously for years during 24 hours a day. Based on current state-of-the art hardware and software, PTC will develop a new hardware and software platform incorporating recent technological trends to be applied in the different sectors of activity of the main contractor (TELVENT). This platform will integrate the following functional blocks: »»Wireless communication such as the field bus. »»Real time operation »»Open source code applications. »»Highly reliable digital links and networks AICIA focuses its activity in this project on the development of circuits and devices for low power wireless communications such as the field bus.
