AIA MISSISSIPPI A N N U A L CONVENTION
This year’s AIA Mississippi Annual Convention explored the city of New Orleans once again. It all began with a preconvention bus tour of developments constructed following Hurricane Katrina and featuring the work of the Make it Right Foundation. The day ended with a visit to St. Roch Market in New Marigny before returning to convention headquarters at The Roosevelt Hotel.

Mississippi Celebrates Architecture Symposium themed Architecture and Film welcomed William Carpenter, FAIA, PhD, LEED AP of Lightroom Studio, Decatur, Georgia and Patrick M. Sullivan, Jr., Production Designer and Art Director as special guests. The one-day interactive seminar gave an opportunity to explore the common ground between the design of architecture and film. The Mississippi Celebrates Architecture Awards Gala took place at the Mississippi Museum of Art, where all gathered to acknowledge the accomplishments of the professional community. Aaron Gentry, AIA, LEED-AP, Principal at TVS Design in Atlanta, Georgia sat as guest juror for the 2015 Design Awards. In addition to the Design Awards, various Community and Membership Awards were given to outstanding contributors within the architectural community.
