Sport plays an integral part of All Hallows’ School life through which discipline, self-esteem, humility, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle are valued. All Hallows’ is a member of the Catholic Secondary Schools Sports Association (CaSSSA) and is affliated with various sporting associations. The program offers weekly competitions across the sports focusing on participation throughout the year. All Hallows’ also takes part in the QLD Schools Cup competitions providing selected players a pathway to travel with their sport and play at the highest level of competition.
International Sports Tours are offered annually using sport as a medium to gain cultural capital and grow independence. It is important to note all students who participate in these programs apply to go on tour, they are not team or ability focused.

AFL Overview
AFL is offered to all Y7 – Y12 students. We cater for competitive club-level players who love the thrill of competition and those who wish to take part with friends and develop new skills. AFL offers an avenue to build friendships, increase fitness and have fun. Parent support is welcomed in the form of volunteer coaching.
Competition
AFL is played in Terms 1 and 4 with CaSSSA Sport. Teams play the eight-week competition at centralised venues on Wednesday afternoons. The draw is released weekly via the School App/Parent Hub.
All Hallows’ enters teams in both the 9 a side (Y7 - Y9) and 16 a side (Y10 - Y12) competitions.
AHS also participates in the AFLQ Schools Cup. This is suited to our most competitive players from Y7-Y12 and an additional selection process and training program is undertaken.

ATHLETICS
Overview
Our Athletics program focuses on developing the skills and strengths of athletes across all disciplines. Training is offered throughout Term 2 and 3, providing opportunities for students to refine their techniques and improve their performance. The program includes preseason training, several lead-up meets, and the final CaSSSA Cup day, along with opportunities to participate in All Schools and Queensland Athletics events.
Competition
With preseason commencing in Term 2 and continuing through Term 3, the athletics season comprises of four CaSSSA lead up meets at the University of Queensland’s sports track. The CaSSSA Cup Athletics Carnival is our major competition. We are proud to have lifted the overall trophy many times throughout the competition’s history. The school also competes in the Athletics Australia National Challenge and All Schools Competitions. These events provide invaluable competition experience against the best schools in the state and across Australia.

TRANSPORT & TRAINING
Our primary training venue is the University of Queensland Athletics Track. Training is offered two afternoons a week throughout Term 2 and 3, with additional session and a training camp held in the holidays.
Transport is provided to students for both training and athletics meets. When parents/caregivers have arranged to collect their daughters after a training session or meets and are not there, students will return to School on the bus and await collection.

BASKETBALL
Overview
Basketball is one of the fastest growing CaSSSA sports at All Hallows’ with over 100 girls playing each year. CaSSSA basketball is played in Terms 3 and 4. Basketball is a great team sport that provides girls with a wonderful opportunity to develop their skills and play in a team environment.
Competition
CaSSSA basketball is a term based sport played on Wednesday afternoons in the 8-week competition. Junior and Senior play in Term 3 and Intermediate play in Term 4. The draw is released weekly via the School App / Moodle. AHS also enters teams in the Champion Basketball School of QLD tournaments. This format is suited to our most competitive players and involves a separate selection and training program.

CROSS COUNTRY
Overview
As reigning CaSSSA Cup Champions, our Cross Country program aims to challenge our most competitive runners, whilst offering opportunities for all athletes to train and have fun. Whether training for another sport or aiming to make the CaSSSA team, all students are invited to participate in Cross Country sessions, led by our talented and enthusiastic team of coaches.
Training occurs in Term 1 and 2, with Run Club also offered in Term 4. Team spirit is built through offerings such as combined training sessions with St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace, breakfast runs, and participation in the Mater International Women’s Day Fun Run.

Commencing in Term 1, the season comprises of four CaSSSA lead up meets culminating in the CaSSSA Cup Cross Country Championships at Limestone Park. Additional competition opportunities include the QLD School Relay Championships and All Schools Cross Country.

Overview
Fencing is an exciting Olympic sport which encourages our girls to be fit, decisive, take risks, make friends and have fun. All Hallows’ Fencing is a club sport and incurs a levy as advertised in the school fees.
Competition
Our School Fencing program offers opportunities to compete in Term 2 Brisbane Secondary School Fencing Team Fixtures, convened by the QLD Fencing Association (QFA).
Pathway
The representative pathway for fencing is through QFA. Students have the opportunity to represent QLD and compete in the National Championships.

FITNESS & WELLNESS
Overview
The Fitness program offers sessions to build fitness stamina, tone, increase cardio and endurance and for overall wellbeing. A variety of activities such as high intensity, strength & conditioning, core fitness, yoga & Pilates, as well as dance form part of the program.
Group training is held each morning and afternoon in the gym. These sessions are supervised by our qualified instructors and available to all year levels. In addition to the gym sessions we offer both swim fit and run fit.

FOOTBALL
Overview
Football is a Term 3 Sport played on Wednesday afternoons. Football is a fun and social team sport which fosters a great amount of team spirit and unity. In addition to the CaSSSA Cup Competition, All Hallows’ also offers a pathway for the Open A and Junior A teams to compete in the UHL Sport and ISSA Cup Competitions. These competitions will incur a small fee to cover coaching, transport and field hire.

The Football competitionn runs for 8 weeks on Wednesday afternoons competing against CaSSSA Schools. The fixtures are played from 4pm to 5pm at various venues.

HOCKEY
Overview
All Hallows’ offers Grass, Indoor and Turf Hockey Seasons. These are played with the Brisbane Women’s Hockey Association and Brisbane Indoor Hockey. Hockey is a club sport and incurs a levy as advertised in the school fees. At the beginning of each School year a Hockey Training Camp is held for the girls.
Indoor Hockey is offered to players in Terms 4 and 1. The Indoor season is seen as a foundation for developing the skills required for the Winter outdoor seasons. It is very popular amongst all ages due to the small team sizes and fast paced games. Summer Hockey is also offered for our Under-11 Players in Term 4.

Overview
Indoor Cricket is a fast-paced version of traditional cricket, encouraging continuous play and teamwork from players. CaSSSA Indoor Cricket is open to students in years 7-12 and is played in Term 1. Indoor Cricket is a great way for students to learn, develop and refine cricketing skills and be part of an exciting sport.

Overview
All Hallows’ School participates in the Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) Winter season, entering approximately 50 teams every year. The Netball Parent Support Group plays an integral part in the Netball program, providing support such as volunteering as Age Group Coordinators or Managers to leading fundraising with provides financial support for the program.and fast paced games.

Fixtures are played at DPNA on Saturdays each week during Terms 2 and 3. Younger age groups play in the morning and older teams in the afternoon.

ROWING
Overview
Rowing is a unique sport which relies on the teams cumulative effort. Girls attend a ‘come and try rowing’ in Term 4 Year 7, and join the program from Year 8. The Parent Support Group are relied upon throughout the season to assist in towing boats, cooking breakfast and assisting at regattas.
Competition
The Brisbane School Girls Rowing Association coordinates six Saturday Regattas culminating in the final Head of the River. All Hallows’ provides selected crews a pathway to the QLD State Rowing Championships in September.

SWIMMING
Overview
The strength of our Swimming program is built on the legacy set by many past AHS swimmers, including Olympians Lizzy Dekkers and Tracey Wickham, and numerous other Australian representatives. We are proud to have won the swimming CaSSSA Cup 17 times in the 20 years the Cup has been awarded. The CaSSSA Swimming season runs for the first 6 weeks of Term 1, with swimming training offered to all students in Terms 1, 3 & 4.
Competition
Students compete in a series of CaSSSA lead up meets in Term 1. The first two CaSSSA lead up meets, as well as the AHS Twilight Swimming Championships, are used as selection events for the 2025 CaSSSA Cup Swimming Squad. It is recommended that students trailing for selection in the CaSSSA Cup Team attend at least two of these events. Following these events, a squad is named to compete in the final two CaSSSA lead up meets.

Overview
All Hallows’ School Touch Football commenced in 1987 with a single team and has grown over the years into a program which includes players from Y5 through to Y12.
