Postgraduate Diploma in Oncology and Palliative Care for Healthcare Professionals

The programme aims to equip healthcare professionals with comprehensive knowledge in general oncology, haematological oncology, and palliative and end-of-life care. The programme prepares healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality oncology care, seamlessly integrating palliative and supportive services across the entire continuum of patient needs. Specifically, the programme targets at nurses seeking to advance their nursing practice in oncology and palliative care. It also aims to enable healthcare professionals (such as radiographers, dietitians, social workers, clinical psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, speech therapists, Chinese medicine practitioners, etc.) to advance their professional development within the specialty of oncology care.

Advanced Diploma in Nutrition

This programme aims to equip students with a thorough knowledge of nutrition and its role in promoting health in the general population. Students will learn how to:

• Critically evaluate the relationship between diet and disease

• Propose evidence-based dietary recommendations for health promotion

Advanced Diploma in Child and Adolescent Nutrition

兒童及青少年營養學高等文憑

This programme aims to equip students with a comprehensive knowledge of nutrition focusing on the essential nutritional needs of children and adolescents. Students will:

• Examine the dietary approaches for preventing and managing common nutrition related disorders in childhood

• Learn how to evaluate nutrition information critically

Study Format

The modules will generally have a 12-week study schedule as follows:

Week 1 Pre-reading

Week 2 Module 1 (15 credits) / Module 3 (30 credits)

Week 3 Module 2 (15 credits) / Module 3 (30 credits)

Week 4 - 6 Self-study/ Revision/ Coursework

Week 7 Module 1 (15 credits) / Module 3 (30 credits)

Week 8 Module 2 (15 credits) / Module 3 (30 credits)

Week 9 - 11 Self-study/ Revision/ Coursework

Week 12 Assignment Submission

Admission Requirements

1. Entry Qualifications

- An honours degree at 2:2 level or above in a health-related subject; OR

Saturday (2pm - 6pm)

Sunday (9am - 6pm)

Saturday (2pm - 6pm) Sunday (9am - 6pm)

- An honours degree at 2:2 level or above in a business-related subject, and at least three-month working experience in a healthcare environment; OR

‐ Qualifications and experience considered to be equivalent to the above. All students applying via this route will be assessed and interviewed.

2. English Requirements

- Applicants whose first language is not English will be expected to have reached a sufficient standard on admission to the programme, or previous post-secondary qualification where the medium of instruction was English.
