Dinner at the Fish Company restaurant.

Day 2. Check out from 101 Hotel. Today’s drive is goes through the countryside to Thingvellir, the site of the original Althing, considered the oldest democratic parliament in the world. This area is noted for its spectacular lava formations and being the only place in the world where you can see the separation of the North American and European tectonic plates. Walk down the main rift. Research has made it clear that Thingvellir is a natural wonder on an international scale, with the geologic history and the biological system of Lake Thingvallavatn forming a unique entity. While diving in the clear, blue waters of Lake Thingvallavatn, see vertical cliffs fall dramatically from the surface to the bottom of a long crevasse beneath you. We now proceed to Geysir, the “geyser” which gave its name to all other erupting hot springs. From there you will go to one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe, Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall). Here you will see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down in a double-fall into a deep gorge from the glacier Langjokull. The tour ends at the Cave Mountain Resort in the mountains beneath Langjokull, the second biggest glacier in Europe. The Resort is private, for your use only. Imagine being able to wake up in the morning with birds singing and nothing in front of you except a game of golf, some trout or salmon fishing, or even a bit of hunting. Maybe you’d rather sit back with a good book and be waited on – truly excellent service in amazingly beautiful surroundings. The views are superb, with glaciers, rivers, mountains and forests spread out for your enjoyment. Imagine being able to unwind, relax, and spend that vital quality time with loved ones in a place far removed from your everyday life. Dinner at the Lava Cave, a 5-star private restaurant.

Day 3. The day starts with a unique breakfast in the main Lodge. A helicopter awaits us above the Lodge ready to take us into the heart of the Icelandic highlands. The flight takes us over the massive glacier Langjokull and over the narrow canyon of the glacial river Hvita and the spectacular waterfall Gullfoss. We circle around the volcano Hekla on our way to Landmannalaugar. Landmannalaugar is a pearl of nature, hidden in the highlands of Iceland. There are hot and cold springs all around, amazing lava fields and outstanding scenery. One of the best characteristics of this area are the rhyolith mountains, with their multi-colored hues and various shapes and sizes. We take the helicopter down to land by one of the natural hot springs, where a massage awaits you after a light walk with your mountain guide around the area. Lunch is provided by a 5-star chef next to one of the springs in the lava field. After a good day in the highlands, we fly back home to the Cave Lodge. Dinner at the Lava Cave.

Day 4. The day starts with a drive in Super-jeeps. We are going to Thorsmork, one of the brightest gems in a string of beautiful areas across the country. Thorsmork is surrounded by beautiful, rugged mountains, glaciers and glacial rivers, decorated with small birch woods and silver-lined with babbling brooks. Many have attempted to describe the charm of this area, but few truly succeeded. Thorsmork is difficult to reach except by mountain vehicle. Our skilled drivers are very experienced in these driving conditions and will take you safely across any river. A helicopter awaits us inside the valley, ready to take us to lunch. An ice buffet is ready for us on top of the Myrdalsjokull glacier, produced by a 5-star chef. After lunch, we’re ready for some sport.

Snowmobiling is real action whether on glaciers or heaths, depending on weather conditions. Be prepared for extreme adrenaline adventure. Your 5-star chef awaits you with a stunning gourmet dinner at the Mongolian Hut. The Mongolian Hut is made from the trees in Haukadalur forest – a unique dining venue! It is only 15 minutes away from the Lodge in the mountains. Spend a relaxing evening in natural surroundings, enjoying the sounds of the forest.

Day 5. We check out from our lodge in the mountains to explore the hidden world of the lava field between Thingvellir and Laugarvatn on our way to Reykjavik. Caving discovering the marvels that volcanic activity has created in the past is a trip that everyone can enjoy. Then check into the 101 Hotel. Free time in the city. Dinner on the island Videy. Videy is an important historic site. Archaeological excavations reveal that the island was already inhabited by the 10th century. Not that Videy is stuck in the past: Yoko Ono chose it as the site for a monument to John Lennon, a blazing pillar of light projected into the night sky on certain dates. In her own words: “I hope the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER will give light to the strong wishes of World Peace from all corners of the planet and give encouragement, inspiration and a sense of solidarity in a world now filled with fear and confusion. Let us come together to realize a peaceful world.”

Day 6. A flight east. A luxury transport is awaits us in eastern Iceland, with all the best comforts available. We head out to Jokulsarlon, or the Ice Lagoon. Watch new icebergs cascade off the descending glacier-tongue beside you, during a breathtaking cruise amongst floating icebergs on a deep glacial lagoon. Among other things to see on this trip are beautiful waterfalls, and the southernmost point of Iceland where, were you to sail due south, you would not touch land until Antarctica. Skaftafell National Park is an oasis wedged between sand and glacier. Its unique natural beauty is a result of favorable weather conditions and the interplay of fire and ice. Your guide will accompany you on a light hike in the Skaftafell Park. After a good day in Skaftafell and Jokulsarlon, we drive back to the small airport and fly back to Reykjavik. Dinner at the Fish Market restaurant.

Day 7. Check out from 101 Hotel and drive to the airport. On our way, we will see the most interesting parts of the city of Reykjavik. During this tour, see the old town centre, the Parliament, the Cathedral, the harbor, the National Museum and Hofdi house, site of the 1986 Reagan-Gorbachev summit. Then some horseback riding. The Icelandic horse has been a part of the Icelandic life since the Viking Age. The Icelandic horse is known for its 5 different gaits. Afterwards, we go and relax in the Blue lagoon. Lunch at the Lava Restaurant. Your guide will escort you to the check-in counter at KeflavĂk airport with loving memories of Iceland. Bless, bless!
