Aberdeen Grammar School Magazine The experimental scheme to have a President Elect had worked very satisfactorily and Iain Hopkin had fulfilled that role with commitment in a number of different ways. The Chairman then moved to the constitutional changes on the agenda as contained in a circulated report which had been made available to the entire membership. The proposal, which permits voting on propositions at Special Meetings to be open to club members who are not present, was passed unanimously following discussion. General Business Section Reports Reports were submitted by representatives of various Sections and of the Club Centre, and similar Reports appear elsewhere in this Magazine. Accounts and Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer reported that submission of the Accounts for 2018 for audit had been unavoidably delayed. The meeting authorised the Executive to approve them once audited. They appear at page 107 below and show a loss of £10,824. The Treasurer stressed how dependent the Club remained on the generosity of members who had responded positively to the 2017 Appeal. Attention was once again drawn to the consequences of supporting the Club Centre while it is under pressure. Election of Office-Bearers Officials of the Club were elected in accordance with the list published elsewhere in this Magazine. Auditors Messrs. Bower & Smith, CA, were unanimously re-appointed Auditors of the Club and Section Accounts for the coming year. In closing the Meeting the Chairman extended warm appreciation to those who were supporting the Club in these challenging times including John Michie, Treasurer, and members of The Executive as well as the Chairman, officials and staff of the Club Centre. Neil Lawrie, Dinner Secretary and Brian Crookshanks, Editor of Magazine, had stepped up to the mark once again and deserved our continuing gratitude. Annual General Meeting 2020 The next Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 24th March 2020, time and place to be advised in terms of the up-dated Constitution.
