There is a willingness within the committee to facilitate social gatherings of FPs which will command sufficient support from the local membership and, to this end, FPs are respectfully invited to be in touch with the Hon. Secretary (contact details below) with views on what type of gathering might be of interest to them, or indeed to indicate that they have no interest in such.

In the absence of a formal AGM, which is traditionally held during the Annual Dinner, Nigel Watt continues as the Edinburgh Centre President and James Rust continues as Honorary Secretary and Treasurer.

Our Annual Dinner was held on Friday 2nd November 2018 at the exciting new venue of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons in Glasgow City Centre, with Glasgow President, Malcolm Gauld, welcoming twenty-two members and guests, including Nigel Watt, representing the Edinburgh Centre, and Myrtle McGregor, the Glasgow President of the local Centre of the Aberdeen High School for the Daughters of the Landed Gentry and Upstanding Citizens of the Silver City with the Golden Sands. After an excellent meal, the A.G.M. of the Centre was held, with the accounts, confirming that we were still solvent, approved, and the committee, yet again, unanimously re-elected.

In welcoming our own Gary Allan Q.C., Malcolm reminded the meeting that he had been Head Boy in 1975, winner of the F P Club All Round Trophy in 1976, President of the Glasgow Centre from 1994-96, President of the Parent Club in 2007-08 and tonight's Dinner Organiser. Gary proposed a very interesting, amusing and informative Toast to the School and the Club, with memories of his school days and professional career and with words of encouragement for the younger members of the audience.

We were delighted to be joined, for her first visit, by Deputy Head Teacher, (responsible for learning, teaching and assessment in the school) Anne Bell who, very ably assisted by Jennifer Herrera (Deputy Head Girl)) and Rory Ferguson (Deputy Head Boy) giving the pupils' perspective, replied to Gary's Toast on behalf of the School. They updated us on all that was happening within its hallowed grounds, highlighting its many successes both academically and in the vast range of extra-curricular activities. Yet again we were all impressed by the calm self-assurance of these excellent young representatives of our school.

In the sad absence of Gillian Thomas, the President of the Parent Club, due to medical reasons, Malcolm was 'fair chuffed' to re-call Margery Taylor to reply to 50
