Bleasdell Boulder Conservation Area
Take a journey through time with a short hike to the ‘Bleasdell Boulder’, one of the largest known glacial erratics in North America, estimated to be 2.3 bil lion years old. Also known as the Glen Miller Rock, the Boulder was studied by Reverend William Bleas dell in the 1800s who wrote of the rock in scientific journals and brought it to the attention of geologists across Canada. The Boulder measures 13.4 metres long, 7.3 metres wide and 6.7 metres high (44’ x 24’ x22’). That’s almost three story’s tall!
For those interested in geocaching, the Boulder is the site of a newly established “EarthCache”. This partic ular type of cache does not involve people looking
for the traditional box, but rather introduces people to unique and special places through web-based list ings.

Canadian Forces Base Trenton
CFB Trenton, 8 Wing, is the largest employer in Quinte West (Trenton), creating a significant econom ic impact in the local economy.
There are approximately 3,300 regular force, 700 reserve force and 500 civilian members who make-up the workforce.
CFB Trenton is the site of the RCAF Memorial Museum which is home to an original Canadian Halifax Bomb er, the 75th RCAF time capsule, as well as many other interesting aircraft and historical information.
Every summer CFB Trenton is home to over 1,000 Royal Canadian Air Cadets who attend a 2-week Familiarization Courses, 3-week Introductory Special ty Course, and 6-week Advanced Specialty Course. CFB Trenton is also home to the Quinte International Air Show, a biennial event that began in 2016. Canadian Forces Base Trenton is a Canadian Force base which is located within Quinte West, Ontario. It is being operated as an air force base by Royal Canadian Air Force and is hob for air transportation in abroad and Canada. Airport is being classified as an airport by Nav Canada and is being staffed by Canada Border Services Agency.

Frankford was first settled by Europeans in the 1820s when settler Abel Scott built a grist mill along the Trent River. The settlement went under a number of names, including Scott’s Mills, Cold Creek and Manchester. The settlement was named Frankford after Sir Francis Bond Head, the Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Cana da. Frankford was incorporated as a village in 1920. Quinte West Waste management offers Garbage and recycling collection, green bin program, yard waste, landfills, bag tags and more.
A garbage bag tag must be placed on each bag put out to the curbside for garbage pickup in the city of Quinte West. The cost is $2.50 per bag tag. The maximum number of bags per week is four, and each bag must not weigh over 40 lbs. All waste should be placed at the curbside the night before collection or by 7 a.m. the morning of collection.
