
About Kedarnath
Kedarnath Valley is located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state. Kedarnath temple is dedicated to lord shiva. Shiva agreed to abide here at the request of Nara-Narayana. has been a pilgrimage center since past times. Kedarnath is one of the four Dham and Panch Kedar besides having twelve Jyotirlingas. Lord Shiva temple Kedarnath is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Kedarnath temple is not only a convergence of three mountains but also a convergence of five riversMandakini, Madhuganga, Kshirganga, Saraswati and Swarnagouri. some of these rivers no longer exist, but the Mandakini, a tributary of the Alaknanda, still exists.

If you want to go by road
If you want to go to By Road then you have to reach Gaurikund first. Then journey from Gaurikund to the Kedar valley is to be walked on foot as the temple is not accessible by road. The distance from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is about 14 km. The long rough bumpy track challenges the spiritual gleam of wayfarers visiting the valley.
If you want to go by Air
If you want to take the air route to reach Shivdham, then you have to first reach Sonprayag by road. You can take Heli services from Sonprayag.
