During my internship, I became fascinated by the complexity of the gastrointestinal system and found it to be very challenging and at the same time a field that one can make a big difference in a patient's illness course. For what are you most known? The quality of my work and availability to help other physicians with patients’ care. How do you set your practice apart? It is a small, stable practice with attention to details. We offer personal communication with each patient in a very friendly environment. We distinguish our
practice by treating everyone as we would like to have our family and friends treated. What do you find most rewarding about being a physician? Helping a patient to overcome their illnesses and pursue pleasurable activities. What is your most memorable moment in medicine? On a quiet night in 2005, I got a call from the ER to see an extremely ill pregnant woman, who developed acute liver failure. I was able to arrange for her to receive a successful liver transplant. Her baby is now a healthy teenager. That was a nerve-wracking experience and a “wow” moment when she came to the clinic with her baby for a follow-up appointment three months later. Hobbies and interests: Travel and jet skiing Community involvement: I am an avid supporter of the Amarillo Symphony and Amarillo Chamber Music.
