How do you set your practice apart? Our vast experience with upper extremity surgery gives us the expertise that only 29 years and thousands of shoulder surgeries can provide. Patients ask about stem cell and Plasma Rich Platelet (PRP) injections. We have kept up with the literature and development of these therapies and when indicated, have been able to utilize these biologic additions to healing. Currently, we use bone marrow for our tendon repair work, as it provides the same balance of stem cells and is much more cost effective in utilizing the patient’s own cellular environment. What do you find most rewarding about being a physician? I like being able to understand and treat difficult problems that I can solve to make people feel better. What is your most memorable moment in medicine? Presenting my research at the World Shoulder Congress in Greece in front of an audience of thousands of shoulder surgeons. Community involvement: My wife, Robin, and I have both been involved in many charitable organizations, such as Junior League of Amarillo, Buckner’s Children’s Home, Eveline Rivers Christmas Project, High Plains Food Bank, Make-A-Wish, Ronald McDonald House, United Way, American Cancer Society, Amarillo Area Foundation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Young Life.
