Agincare appointed to run four care homes in London

In exciting news, Agincare has been appointed by Southwark Council to operate four care homes in London: Greenhive Care Home and Waterside Care Home in Peckham, as well as Rose Court Care Home in Rotherhithe and Bluegrove House Care Home in Bermondsey. Through the partnership with Southwark Council, Agincare will work with the local community to develop and expand the care services in the boroughs to meet emerging needs.

Agincare continues its sustainable expansion of care homes following the opening of Nightingale Care and Nursing Home in Derby after an extensive £2milllion refurbishment and renovation programme.

Enjoying life to the max at Furlong Close

Agincare Enable Area Manager Pete Bates said: “The people who draw on our services are now living far more independently, and are all playing active roles within the community which is so rewarding to see.”

The improvement has been recognised by Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors who found the service ‘Good’ in both the ‘Safe’ and ‘Well-led’ categories in a visit this Spring. Their report featured many positive comments from people living at Furlong Close, their relatives, and visiting professionals that work with the Agincare team.

Nigel, who lives at Furlong Close, said:

WHAT IS AGINCARE ENABLE?

Furlong Close’s ethos is founded on personalised care and choice, supporting each person’s independence to enjoy a rich and rewarding life both in the community and further afield.

That includes choosing and being supported to go on trips out and holidays, holding jobs, volunteering, attending social clubs, and enjoying hobbies and activities like horse-riding or church bell ringing.

Those at Furlong Close also take part in LIFE (Lasting Independence For Everyone) sessions, based on activities they would like to learn, places they would like to go and challenges they would like to overcome.
