Welcome to my portfolio. As a Nottingham Trent University graduate in furniture and product design, my work focuses on simplicity, sustainability, and functionality.
Guided by a passion for creating elegant and purposeful pieces, this portfolio presents my explorations in design. Here, you will find projects where form meets function, materials tell stories, and sustainability merges with innovation. Each piece reflects my commitment to thoughtful and enduring design, crafted to inspire and engage.
For the ‘Nova’ project at my internship at Spiral, I was tasked with designing a sideboard where the focus was on innovatively crafted handles, blending functionality with a striking visual appeal.
Brief.
For the Spiral project, I designed a sideboard with recessed handles, starting with inspiration from existing models. I created multiple designs, from which we selected the favourites based on their blend of style and functionality.

Nova .
Nova and several other sideboards I designed were selected by Spiral for further development. After going through multiple stages to refine details and measurements, we arrived at this final piece.
Nova .
We decided to develop an entire range, drawing inspiration from the design elements and features of the original Nova piece. This expanded into both a bedroom range and a living room range, showcasing the versatility and appeal of the Nova-inspired designs.
Inspired by Terence Conran’s passion for travel, hospitality, and innovation, this project reimagines the traditional Turkish kettle for Habitat, blending cultural heritage with contemporary design aesthetics.

Testing size and shape
To fine-tune the design of my kettle, I crafted detailed cardboard models to experiment with different sizes and shapes. This process allowed me to thoroughly test and adjust the comfort and ergonomics of the handles, ensuring a perfect fit for user comfort and usability.

Renders.
For my kettle design, I selected terracotta for the top, drawing inspiration from Habitat’s chicken brick, to add a rustic aesthetic and natural heat retention. The bottom is made of stainless steel, chosen for its superior heat conduction and durability. To ensure safe handling, the handles are wrapped in leather, providing both comfort and protection from heat.
Packaging .
I kept this 100% recyclable packaging as simple as possible to encourage reuse

Prototyping
.
I used existing chairs to experiment with and determine the optimal distance between two people, ensuring maximum comfort and ease of interaction.
The relaxed posture of the person in the image inspired the form of MICA,
Keeping the relaxed posture in mind, I sketched a few designs with angled backrests.
Prototyping .
I created full-scale wooden models, adapting measurements to maximize comfort. Additionally, I angled the backrest to encourage a relaxed posture and facilitate eye contact between users.
Final prototype .
It was exciting to showcase my project at New Designers London, an incredible opportunity where I had the chance to network with industry professionals and receive valuable feedback on my work.
