Happy Retirement Carol It is with a heavy heart that we all bid farewell to Carol Herbert, Area Shops Manager, as she retires after 28 years with Age Concern/ Age UK Solihull.

Welcome Fhara and Jen
Two new staff members have joined the Community Advice Hub here at The Core to help our clients with information and advice. Jen Paynter was previously a volunteer advisor at Solihull Citizens Advice for a number of years, before moving back into paid employment. “It was a big step for me, but everyone has been really supportive”, says Jen. “I am really enjoying the experience of working in the Hub and because we are helping with a variety of issues faced by our clients, no two days are the same”. Fhara Najib is supporting clients through the Community Advice Hub and also works with the Winter Warmth project. Prior to working for Age UK Solihull, Fhara was a Floor Manager at a
Learning Disability Day Centre for Birmingham City Council. “I am loving working at Age UK Solihull, especially meeting people from all walks of life and being able to provide advice and guidance to support them. Some of my clients in my previous role at the Day Centre were real characters and I am sure I will meet many more in my new role”.
