NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2018 Hi there Folks. Frosts have been cold in the mornings but the sun has been good to see afterwards. No rain here but still time. Concert The Chatsford Ukelele Band shared another super
afternoon’s entertainment with us with lots of well-known songs that we could sing-along to on the 18th July. This month we have the Choiristers arriving on the 15th August ---- Let’s make an effort and bring along some friends to share in the music. Remember usual starting time of 1.45 pm, cost of $3.00 entry includes afternoon tea. Try your luck with the Raffles too. Social Group The group gathered for lunch at the China Palace on 19th
July. Great food and good company with lots of laughs. Gwen and Dorothy will be home from their wanderings later this month and we’ll plan our next outing then. Keep an eye on the notice boards. Travel Group We left Dunedin and headed north to Oamaru through patches of fog but as we travelled northwards the skies cleared and the day was clear and sunny. Lolly jars filled and we wandered as we pleased after lunch until time to return home. A lovely day! Milton Seniors are holding their annual concert on Friday 17th August so we are taking a bus down to support their event. Cost includes entry to the hall as well as the bus fare -- $25.00. Lunch at own cost as usual. The bus will leave the depot 11.am. and the Club Rooms 11.15 am. Let Rose know if you would like to join us.
Our September Trip around Te Anau is all set to go and everyone concerned is looking forward to the week away. Keep thinking about your dress-up for Thursday night folks! A very warm welcome to those who are coming on an adventure with us for the first time.
