Every fall, college students and alumni can’t wait for the biggest event on campus - HOMECOMING! When it's time to take a break from non stop studying and working, crowds from all over pool together to celebrate their school and unite with their community. Homecoming is usually a week filled with sports, festival games, panels, step shows, and of course parties! Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) are notorious for having off the chart school spirit and elaborate homecoming events. Students and alumni show up and show out for their stomping grounds. We’ve searched high and low to bring you the top Must See HBCU Homecoming Celebrations of 2022. Will your HBCU make the list?

North Carolina A&T

Also known as #GHOE aka Greatest Homecoming on Earth, NCAT has a lot to offer during homecoming season. The town of Greensboro, NC explodes with crowds filled with Aggie Pride as NCAT is the largest HBCU in the nation. This year, NCAT is bringing all the smoke with a gospel show starring Tye Tribbett and a Homecoming concert featuring the most trending Hip Hop and R&B artists Lil Baby, Chloe, Nardo Wick, and Glorilla. You don’t wanna miss this!

Howard University

HU You Know! From iconic parties and star studded events, Howard turns D.C. up like no other. We’ve even seen models get scouted from pics from HU Homecoming. From Yardfest to the Amuni Bar Crawl, this fashion forward HBCU is guaranteed to change your life.

AUC

Atlanta, GA is already known as Black Hollywood, so why not top it off by having 3 HBCUs within 10 miles of each other. Located in downtown ATL, Spelman and Morehouse combine to form SpelHouse, (a dynamic duo that dominates the city) with CAU in walking distance from both campuses. Also, for the first time in almost 20 years, the Morris Brown College has regained accreditation and is relaunching its Homecoming events. These schools combine to create Atlanta University Center (AUC). The bustle of the city mixed with the traffic from tourists, alumni, students, and locals, AUC creates a must see homecoming experience.

Southern University

Once your school goes viral, it's a must to maintain the hype. Southern University has done an outstanding job of doing just that! Place the best majorette dance team, the Dancing Dolls, with the most talented marching band, the Human Jukebox, and you will have a never ending experience filled with school pride. Complete with a comedy show and car show, the SU Jaguars will have Baton Rouge on lock!
