The Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) spotlighted the AFRO American Newspaper at its 15th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament Sept. 24, continuing the legacy of legendary AFRO Paul Blair, who played in two MLB World Series, WPGC Radio’s Justine Love, Shekar Subramaniam, columnist Sam Lacy and Rose Harper, founder of the PGA Tour Randy Sroka, Lisa Taylor and Sami Satouri Wives Association and architect of the Golf Digest Minority Golf Summit. There was also a special tribute at the tournament awards banquet to Greater Washington Urban League President and CEO Maudine R. Cooper, who has announced she will retire this year. Major sponsors of the tournament included Pepco, MedStar Family Choice, RLJ Lodging, DC 09, Eli Lilly, and the Nuclear Energy Paul Kaup, Sonoda; Dave Schall, Jacqueline DaughtryInstitute.
