HISD Superintendent Proposes a Balanced Budget and Across-the-Board Salary Increases HOUSTON - Over the last few months, HISD administration has worked diligently to prepare a sound budget for the 2019-2020 school year that would provide our students with the tools they need to succeed, while keeping our district on track financially. I am the leader of the largest school district in Texas and it is my mission that every employee in the district be treated fairly and equitably. Our students deserve the resources to be successful and so do our employees. One of my strategic priorities is attracting and retaining top talent and this proposal is a step in the right direction. That is why I am urging the Board of Education to pass the recommended budget and approve the compensation package for all HISD staff.
