Trapped in a world of witchcraft

YOU helped rescue Babazi from darkness! The gift of new life

Babazi of Uganda had a very challenging childhood.

As a young girl, while her friends were playing and enjoying the innocence of childhood, she was thrust into adulthood. At just thirteen, she became a mother, the result of sexual assault.

In rural Uganda, without a husband to provide for her, life was difficult for Babazi. She struggled to provide for her young son. With no education and no income-producing skills, she barely got by doing odd jobs.

So, when a marriage proposal came, she said yes!

Babazi was looking for a Saviour, but found Satan instead

Unbeknownst to Babazi, her new husband’s family practiced witchcraft. And now that she was part of the family, she learned to practice witchcraft too.

But there is a cost to toiling in darkness and evil.

Babazi’s story

Jesus shines light into Babazi’s heart

No matter how many spells, curses or conjurings Babazi performed, life was nothing but a series of sufferings.

First, Babazi’s health began to deteriorate. Then she developed a heart condition. And one day, she had a mental breakdown and had to be hospitalized. Yet, in the lowest of points, God reached out to her. Thanks to you, she heard the Gospel and decided to give her life to Jesus. Babazi was rescued from the darkness by the Light!

YOU are giving Babazi hope for the future

Last July, during the mission in Kabale, Uganda, 134 evangelists turned up for the evangelism event, going door-todoor — to schools, streets and hospitals — and reaching out to 1,608 people (including Babazi) with 107 receiving Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Babazi shared her remarkable story with our evangelism team, and they prayed for her and encouraged her.

Today, Babazi continues to follow Jesus, believing He will give her total healing and deliverance, and has vowed never to depart from His ways.

Thank you for all you do to help introduce lost souls to the Saviour — and disciple and encourage new believers, like Babazi, in their faith.

Thank you for the hope and new life you bring to lost souls, like Babazi, in Africa.

Mission to Kenya Spring cleaning for Jesus

Last June, 1,369 missionaries hit the streets of Mombasa, Kenya, to pick up trash while evangelising as part of the “Reach Mombasa and Diani Mission.”

The cleaning of the city was symbolic in that the team prayed the city would be cleaned physically and spiritually.

As the team moved from street to street, picking up garbage, they took every opportunity to share the Gospel with those they encountered. Many families and individuals, especially those living on the streets, shared how they depend on the community to feed them and provide other basic needs, and they were happy we cleaned their “home.”

Participants of the “Reach Mombasa and Diani Mission” hit the streets to pick up trash and share the Gospel.

The gift of the Gospel

AE Kenya staff are joined by Mombasa pastors as they pray and kick off the cleaning mission.

In all, the missionaries shared the Gospel with over 3,400 people, 152 of whom made the decision to follow Christ.

Thank you for all the missions you make possible. You are reaching the lost in Jesus’ name!

Women’s Tailoring Program

Susan of Malawi is a 22-year-old single mom. Her mother died a couple of years ago, and she and her younger siblings live with their father, who is a truck driver.

“Due to my father’s work, he is gone for a number of weeks,” she said. “This leaves us children taking care of one another until he comes back. This made me think deeply as to how I can take part in helping my father with our daily needs when he is away.”

Susan’s prayers were answered when she was enrolled in the African Enterprise Women’s Tailoring Program.

“It is a great opportunity for me since I will be able to generate some income out of the tailoring business which I will be running after I graduate,” she says.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity which African Enterprise is offering to vulnerable women and young ladies like myself,” says Susan. “Thank you!”

Getting Jesus out of the stable

At this special time of year, our minds turn to Jesus in the Bethlehem stable. That was where Christmas was born.

First, we see that it was the sin of humans that sent him to the stable. But Jesus would later say, “I have come to seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10).

Second, Jesus was put in the stable because of the love of God for sinners. But it was not enough for Jesus and the message to remain in the stable. The vital necessity was to get Him out of the stable and into the world!

Dear ones, that is our calling at African Enterprise! As Paul says: “I must preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Eph. 3:8). Our particular calling is to Africa and its major cities. That geographical arena is our primary parish.

And this task is huge! So, I most sincerely ask you, through deepened prayer and through generous giving, to help us get Jesus out of the stable and into the whole wide world!

For Africa’s lost and suffering,

YOU

The Surprising Science of Giving

Over the past 20 years experts have found that giving creates a “warm glow” of dopamine in the body; lighting up the same parts of the brain as eating dessert or receiving money.

While we naturally turn to generosity during the holidays, here are three unexpected ways you can give (and experience an dopamine boost) this season:

1. Pass along a family heirloom. Instead of buying something new or willing it later, give a prized family possession this year — when you can surprise the recipient and enjoy their reaction.

2. Teach what you know. Some of the best gifts can’t be wrapped. Pass down your skill of knitting, carpentry or a beloved family recipe with the techniques that can’t be written down, only demonstrated.

Thousands of people in Africa have been reached with the Gospel this year, but so many more still need to hear the Good News. Your Christmas gift will help provide evangelism, healing and vocational and leadership training to empower men, women and children in Africa to lead godly lives.

3. Think long-term. Giving charitable gifts to an organisation you love makes a huge difference, but have you ever thought about leaving a gift in your will to African Enterprise? This type of plan-ahead generosity will not only leave an impact on future generations, but it will fill your heart with joy and satisfaction today too.
