In a few words his style could be described as pure and natural versus industrial and clearly present but not demanding. What is most important about his designs, is that the products are not only functional, but overall meaningful.

De dimbare spaarlampen geven zowel sfeer als ook functioneel licht. Het kan gebruikt worden voor bijvoorbeeld boven de eettafel, maar ook in representatieve ruimtes, zoals: recepties, showrooms, entrees etc. De vorm van het licht object wordt bepaald in overleg met de klant, de afmetingen variëren tussen de 50 cm. en 1000 cm.

Gedurende een korte tijd heb ik intensief contact met de exposanten en leer ik ze echt een beetje kennen.

De afgelopen jaren hebben veel exposanten speciaal voor ons iets ontworpen. Het is fijn om samen te brainstormen over de beste invulling qua creatie en communicatie. De ene ontwerper heeft meer commercieel inzicht dan de andere en het is prettig om daarbij te kunnen adviseren. Geen deelnemer en dus ook geen expositie is hetzelfde geweest.

In 10 jaar 39 exposities samengesteld met bijna 400 deelnemende exposanten.

Dit is naar mijn mening voor een hotel een unieke prestatie Geachte kunst- en design liefhebber, In 2007 had ik de eer de verantwoording over het Dutch Design & Art concept van Dutch Design Hotel Artemis over te nemen en daarmee het curatorschap van de exposities. Ik heb dit altijd met veel passie gedaan en er veel plezier aan beleeft. Gerelateerd aan het concept hebben wij regelmatig modeshows, foto- en filmshoots en Food & Drink Design catering mogen hosten. Dit gaf een bijzondere vibe in het hotel voor zowel onze gasten als het Artemis team.

Daarnaast proberen wij het Dutch Design concept op zoveel mogelijke manieren te integreren in de beleving van de gast.

Inmiddels hebben wij maar liefst 39 exposities samengesteld met bijna 400 deelnemende exposanten. Dit is voor een hotel organisatie een mag ik wel zeggen unieke prestatie. We zijn er trots op dat wij jarenlang op eigen benen hebben kunnen staan en zonder subsidie een prachtig platform hebben kunnen bieden aan zowel beginnend- als gevestigde kunstenaars en designers. Iedere deelnemer heeft zijn eigen verhaal, vaak bijzonder en soms zelfs ontroerend.

Soms waren de omstandigheden best extreem.

Ook voor collega’s: het ophalen van strobalen bij de plaatselijke boer resulteerde bijna in gebeten worden door de hond op het erf. We weten inmiddels ook dat bij windkracht 10 er echt geen kunst in de vijver blijft liggen en kennen wij de moeilijkheidsgraad van het bekleden van de mega grote mediawand met 500 archiefdozen. Zo zijn er nog veel meer anekdotes.

Een van mijn meest favoriete exposities is nog steeds Sprookjes (expo 10.4 – 2010/2011), een droomachtig thema met aparte objecten. Bijzonder trots waren wij met de deelname van modeontwerper Hans Ubbink met zijn Fairy tale collectie.

Dank keukenen restaurantteam voor het op de kaart zetten van het Food & Drink Design met jullie culinaire gerechten in de diverse thema’s. Maar zeker ook dank aan het technische team.
