Location Selnes

Instructions for landing In a northern wind it is possible to land zodiacs in Selvík, on the south side of the cape and walk north to Fúlavík, where most of the waste is

Clean Up Iceland 10

Location Sævarlandsvík

Hazards

Landowners do not want any people to disrupt the mouth of the river as it might disturb salmon and trout fishing

Location Garðssandur

Instructions for landing

Very shallow, the Zodiacs might need to be carried to and from the beach.

Clean Up Iceland 11

Location Kolkuós / Elínarhólmi

Instructions for landing

Might not be a lot of waste, but there are cultural remains that are being broken down by the ocean. There is a small island, Elínarhólmi, close by. Could make for a fun beach visit none the less.

Location Höfðamöl and Lónkot

Hazards A lot of round rocks which can make walking challenging. The rocks slip from under your feet, and you get tired quickly.

Location Málmey

Hazards

Between Málmey and Þórðarhöfði there is a shallow reef, where only small boats can pass with caution, not a very “stable” beach and likely not a lot of waste, but rich birdlife and very fun to visit. Murky and rocky on the east.

Clean Up Iceland 12

No go area

The landowner at the farm Bær has asked us not to go there.
