Australian Eight Ball Federation Hall of Fame Introduction • The Hall of Fame committee shall consider a player’s or a team’s outstanding service and overall contribution to the sport of Eight ball in determination of their eligibility for their induction into the Hall of Fame.

11. Dress Codes

20. Men’s Women’s and Masters Teams Match Format

11.1 The Host State is responsible for ensuring that signage is erected at the Australian Championships outlining dress requirements.

Spectators: “NO”: - Thongs, Singlets, Tattered or Dirty Clothing - Shorts (Except dress shorts and long socks)

20.1 Team managers and captains will fill in the fixture book with their team names prior to the advertised starting time of the match.

20.2 The player with * against their name in the official fixture book will break. Where the wrong player performs the break, if: - (i) the break is fair, the opponent will continue with 2 visits and an open table. (ii) The break is not a fair break, see World Rules 4 (b).

11.3 Players and Officials: - Males: Slacks, Shirt and Shoes.

- Females: Slacks or Skirt, Shirt or Blouse and Shoes.

- Players must wear full State uniform at all times when competing.

20.3 Team 1 will be deemed to be the team that appears first on the fixture. Team 2 will be deemed to be the team that appears second on the fixture.

11.4 Definitions: - Slacks: Does not include jeans, leggings and tracksuits etc.

- Shoes: Does not include Running Shoes, Sandals and Moccasins etc.

20.4 Substitutes can be used in rounds 2, 3 and 4. A team manager must advise the opposition team manager of any substitutions before the commencement of the first frame of the next round. A team manager who has made themselves available has every right to refuse to accept notice of substitutions from an opposing team manager if that notice is given after the round has commenced.

11.5 Any player not in their correct State/Territory uniform is to be omitted from the Opening Ceremony.

11.6 State/Territory Uniforms:

20.5 There is to be no break between rounds 1 and 2. Once the last frame in round 1 is completed, the first frame/s in round is to commence. Any substitutes need to have been made before the completion of round 1. Teams may have a break of up to 5 minutes between rounds 2 and 3 and rounds 3 and 4. Teams are not permitted to leave the playing area during these breaks.

Each State/Territory uniform will consist of the following predominate colours, any future changes must be authorised at an AGM prior to a change being made.

- A.C.T Royal Blue with gold.

- S.A Red with dark blue and yellow.

- N.T. Ochre with black and white.

- QLD. Maroon with Gold - N.S.W Navy with light blue.

- TAS Green with gold and red.

- VIC Navy with white.

- W.A Black with gold and white.

20.6 A player cannot be replaced in a round and then brought back in to the match in the same round. Any player who is replaced must remain out of the match for at least one round.

20.7 Frame 1 will be played on Table 1 and Frame 2 will be played on Table 2. All subsequent frames are to be played on the next available table until the fixture’s completion. This includes situations where a break between rounds has been taken.

Each State/Territory must have the current sponsor’s logo/s on their Playing Shirt for Australian Championships.

12. Adjudication Panel

20.8 Prior to the commencement of each frame the umpire will rack the balls and place the cue ball at the centre of the baulk end cushion and call time running. The player who is designated to break that frame then has fourty seconds to break.

12.1 A Head Adjudication panel will be appointed at each Australian Championship Delegate’s Meeting.

12.2 The panel will consist of.

21. Australian Men’s, Women’s and Masters Singles Matches

12.2.1 One Head Adjudicator: The current National Rules & Umpiring Director

21.9 The first player to break in all Australian singles matches will be determined by a lag.

12.2.2 Eight Assistant Head Adjudicators: One person recommended by each of the member State and Territories.

12.2.3 Three of the nine Adjudicators must be present in the playing room at all times during play.

21.10 Prior to the commencement of each frame the umpire will rack the balls and place the cue ball at the top of the table and call time running. The player who is designated to break that frame then has fourty seconds to break.

12.7 The Adjudication Panel will have the “Fishing Line” and the “Hooked White Ball” method of Foul Snooker or Total Snooker determination available for use if necessary.

21.11 The balls are to be racked as per the AEBF rules with a yellow “J”.

4. Australian Championship Format

12.9 When teams are called for practice prior to each event, they are to be reminded to acknowledge umpires call.

4.11 Any Player not in attendance when play is due to commence without prior notification to the adjudicator shall deemed to forfeit that match and a nil result would be given to the player offending on the first account, and the second occurrence of late to a match will result in all results for the tournament being removed for the offending individual.

12.10. Umpires are to be advised to stop games if the noise level becomes too much.

The Umpire; Umpires will observe the correct calling procedures.....

“Void Break” “Foul, Two Visits” “Foul Break” “Twenty Seconds” “Balls Potted” “Red/Yellow Balls in Play” “Open Table” “Red/Yellow Balls Nominated” “Second Visit” “Total Snooker” “Foul Snooker”

Time Allowed; These Championships are played using a 40 second time clock, commonly referred to as the 20/20 rule.

Players will be given a warning after 20 seconds and be fouled if they do not play a shot within 40 seconds.

29. Behaviour Reports and Disciplinary Actions

14.1 If a player disagrees with an umpiring decision during a match at Australian Championships, the following procedure applies:

29.1 At any fixture venue, competition, tournament, meeting or other function organised by the AEBF: A Behaviour Report can be lodged by any official of the AEBF, State or Territory reporting alleged misbehaviour by any player, official or member.

14.1.1 The player should instantly ask the match umpires to stop the game and the umpires must do so.

29.2 Penalties that can be imposed for misbehaviour are a written reprimand, monetary fine or suspension.

14.1.2 The match umpires must then call an adjudicator.

29.3 Behavioural Incident during an Australian Championship:

14.1.3 The Adjudicator will attempt to make a decision based upon all available information, which may include asking a captain or team manager from each side for their opinions. However, a Captain or Team Manager must not enter the playing area unless specifically asked to by the Adjudicator.

29.3.1 A panel of one representative from each State /Territory present at the National Championships will be selected at the delegates meeting prior to the commencement of the Australian Championships to form the Disciplinary Committee. Upon receipt of a report of alleged misbehaviour by a player, official or member, five people will be selected from the Disciplinary Committee panel (were possible from neutral States) by the President to hear the complaint.

14.1.4 The Adjudicator may: Make a final binding decision, or decide to call in the other two members of the adjudication panel who after deliberation with the Adjudicator and by majority vote will make a final binding decision.

29.3.2 The player, official or member who the alleged report of misbehaviour has been lodged against will be notified in writing by the AEBF at least four (4) hours prior of the time, date and venue of the hearing into the alleged misbehaviour.

14.1.5 Harassment of Umpires or Adjudicators at any stage of the aforementioned dispute process is a reportable offence.

29.3.3 The player, official or member may lodge an appeal against the decision of the Disciplinary Committee. This must be lodged in writing with the AEBF Secretary within twenty four (24) hours of the decision being handed down by the Disciplinary Committee. Appeals will be heard by the AEBF Executive Committee and any subsequent appeal will be heard by the AEBF Delegates Committee. The decision of the AEBF Delegates Committee will be final.

28 Behaviour Reports and Disciplinary Actions 28.1 At any fixture venue, competition, tournament, meeting or other function organised by the AEBF: A Behaviour Report can be lodged by any official of the AEBF, State or Territory reporting alleged misbehaviour by any player, official or member.

29.3.4 Behaviour of all players whilst representing Australia, reflect on Australia and the AEBF. Therefore action by any player that is likely to bring discredit to fellow team members, the AEBF or Australia will be dealt with most severely. Australian Team players, within Australia or overseas, shall be subject to Disciplinary Committee. Such Disciplinary Committee shall consist of a minimum of 3 AEBF Executive.

28.2 Penalties that can be imposed for misbehaviour are a written reprimand, monetary fine or suspension.

28.3 Behavioural Incident during an Australian Championship

29.4 Any player who travels to the World Championships as an un-financial member of the AEBF, on their return will be made an unfinancial member of the AEBF for six months.

26. Doping Policy 26.1 The AEBF has adopted a Doping Policy, which can be found on the AEBF webpage at http://www.aebf.com.au/policy/AEBF-Anti-Doping-Policy.pdf 26.2 Members of any State or Territory Association and or affiliate of such state or territory association are bound by the Doping Policy of the AEBF or any amendment thereto.

29.5 As soon as a player is made un-financial the AEBF Treasurer will notify the affiliated Member State or Territory the player belongs to of that player’s un-financial status and request assistance in collecting any outstanding funds.

27. Member Protection Policy

30. Behaviour at Playing and Accommodation Venues

27.1 The AEBF has adopted a Member Protection Policy, which can be found on the AEBF webpage at http://www.aebf.com.au/policy/AEBF-Member-Protection-Policy.pdf 27.2 Members of any State or Territory Association and or affiliate of such state or territory association are bound by the Member Protection Policy of the AEBF or any amendment thereto.

30.1 Players, officials and supporters are to act in such a way as to not bring discredit to their State or Territory and the Australian Federation at all venues used for a National or international event. The aforementioned persons must treat the management, staff and non associated houseguests with the utmost respect and consideration.

28. Social Media Policy

30.2 Foyers and other areas not specifically set aside for the event must not be used as areas for team meetings. Alcohol must not be consumed in any area not specifically licensed for that purpose.

28.1 The AEBF has adopted a Member Protection Policy, which can be found on the AEBF webpage at http://www.aebf.com.au/policy/AEBF-Social-Media-Policy.pdf 28.2 Members of any State or Territory Association and or affiliate of such state or territory association are bound by the Member Protection Policy of the AEBF or any amendment thereto.

30.3 Pilfering is a serious offence; any person caught pilfering at any time during a tournament shall be banned from that tournament.

Equipment; Players may only use the equipment supplied by the AEBF. The use of Shark racks, any other triangle or any equipment not supplied by the AEBF other than a players Cue/s is not permitted.

Poolstat; Poolstat will be used to record the results of all matches during theses Championships. During singles matches it is the responsibility of both players to ensure that the result of each frame and the final result is recorded in Poolstat. If the result of each frame and the final result of the match is not recorded in Poolstat will result in both players being forfieted.

This feature event presents a phenomenal array of world talent across both teams, including the current WEPF World Champion Barbara Taylor. The Australian Eight Ball Federation welcomes The Lionesses to Australia.

The Lionesses are very proud to be the first England Ladies Team to venture to the southern hemisphere for a series of tests against the Australian Ladies Team.

I would like to thank Lyndal Ellement for creating the amazing promotional poster that is on view outside The Commercial Club Albury.

The Lionesses have a very strong unit which includes three (3) members of the 2018 World Team Championship winning team, the current World Singles Champion and runner-up.

Unfortunately, the England Team Manager Shirley Jewkes cannot travel with her Ladies on this occasion but wishes everyone all the best and hopes everyone enjoys the experience.

The Australian Ladies Team is looking forward to the challenge with a lineup that boasts the joint 2018 World Championships Player of the Carnival, the 2017 Australian Championships Player of Carnival, and representatives from both the 2007 and 2016 World Championship winning teams.

It will be well worth it to come and watch these players, cheer and support your country, whichever you choose.

This is a major step in the promotion of the ladies game worldwide and they will be looking at putting on a fine display to showcase their talents.

The Lionesses team consists of five very prominent figures on the international scene. They are led by captain Barbara Taylor who has been representing England for 20 years and is the current ladies World Champion.

Cat Jones the current European Champion. Lorraine Fivey, last years World Masters Runner Up. Sharon James who was runner up at this years World Championships and Sophie Gibbs-Nicholls 2015 Home Nations Champion.

These five players have also won dozens of World, European and Home Nations team titles and will be hoping that wealth of experience will stand them in good stead for the test series against Australia’s finest players.

Women’s Team; Top of the table earnt ourselves the advantage of playing 4th team France which was a completely different team than earlier in the day shooting quickly to a 3-7 lead in the first to 13 race. Having never experienced a deficit of that nature at this tournament, it was credit to Australia to for persistence and courage to keep fighting every ball, every frame. A questionable call from a French player mid-way through the match fired our team up further and we managed to find a new level hitting the final round at 10-10, then 12-12.

The final frame looked completely dire as France had full control of the table and little options for the Australian. With persistence and fantastic play, Lauren reversed the impossible and earnt one chance at snatching the frame which was not entirely straight forward. Unfortunately, this time is was not meant to be, but full credit to France who played completely beyond themselves in this match spurred tirelessly by a massive and highly vocal support base from all their divisions.

Overall, all players had their individual good matches and we ended with four good wins with three matches lost 11-10. One more frame to win any of these three matches would have taken us into the finals.

The team finished top of the ladder and Semi Finalist.

Kolbe Poole, advanced though to the Quarter Finals of the World Masters Ladies Singles. Both Lyndal Ellement and Kolbe Poole were selected into the World Team.

Aussie Juniors & Under 23’s

Junior & Under 23 Teams - Hayden Goode, Jaseley-Jean Dimer, Callum Saunders (u23), Kane Weekley, Devlin Praegar, Jeremy Bower (Mgr), Isabella Di Giorgio, Danyal Porter, Lochlan Courtney (u23) and Justin Stubbs (u23).

On Junior Grand Final day we all met up over to the beach and told them that they had done an amazing job getting this far and if they play the way they have been that we can bring home the Gold. We started off really well against England being 6-4 up , but then I think we saw the finish line early and one by one each junior under all the hype and riding that amazing adrenaline rush they tried to start potting out difficult tables and ran into trouble. This was again a great learning curve and a wealth of experience for us. England won the next 7 in a row putting the pressure on us we pulled it together and started to slowly climb back to 11 – 9 but the English finished strong winning the last two frames (13 – 9).

From the start the players were comfortable with each other. Lyndal had arranged a video conference on Facebook before we departed Australia and this seemed to bring everyone closer.

All the players supported each other on and off the table. I gave emotional support during the time in Blackpool to anyone that needed it. It was heartbreaking losing the semi-final 13-12 against France.

Jasley was a good captain to the players when it came to the speeches before the game in the huddle and vocally getting behind them team. Played 28/30 and won 19 making the world team on 67.85%.

Devlin, great team player and really wanted to help educate the rest of the team of his experience of the Supreme Tables and how to play them. Played 28/30 frames, won 19 making the world team on 67.85%.

COMPETITION

The team grew throughout the whole competition we started off with a scratch match against England at the pool hall in Blackpool and having a very close loss (12-11).

Then the next day we started with our first match against Northern Ireland losing 13-12 everyone really starting to play well under the pressure of the competition and started to gel as a team.

AMAZING

A

Isabella is an amazing player and has the brightest future in the Womens and maybe even more.

Isabella also went all the way through the Junior Singles losing 7-4 in the Semi Final and I believe this is the first female Junior to make the Semi Finals in the worlds she is just coming forward in leaps and bounds. Isabella played 25/30 frames winning 15 finishing on 65.21%.

On the Third Day of teams I had noticed that we kept benching a player and that I wanted to try and help getting him on the table more so he loses the nerves and is ready for the finals, So I went for a walk and had a good think about what I could do and came up with an idea I called a meeting of all the juniors to my room......... and asked them a very important question “ Do you want to be part of the World Team or a World Championship Team�.............
