Melbourne corporate couple sets up home – and office – at VUE TERRACE HOMES

oung professional couple, Georgie and Kyle Hubbard, have opted to leave behind the hustle and bustle of inner-city Melbourne to run a national IT recruitment business from their new home at Robina’s masterplanned community, Vue Terrace Homes. Joining many others leaving the southern states for the Gold Coast in search of more affordable property and a better work-life balance, the Hubbards decided to put their two-bedroom, twobathroom flat in the inner south-east Melbourne suburb of Carnegie on the market. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Georgie and Kyle were among almost 35,000 residents who moved to the Gold Coast from elsewhere in Australia in year ended June 2018. Gold Coast City experienced the highest net internal migration of all non-capital cities over that same period. After selling their apartment, Georgie and Kyle ‘felt like they won the lottery’ when they discovered their budget would buy them a two-storey threebedroom, three-bathroom terrace home at Vue’s exclusive gated community, with views of neighbouring parklands and the Gold Coast skyline. While they toyed with the idea of opening a Gold Coast office for their business, Georgie and Kyle decided instead to live and work from their new home at Vue. “Why do the same old thing and work from an office when we can live the dream and work from

our beautiful new terrace home every day,” said Georgie, joint CEO at CH Solutions, a Melbournebased firm that procures and develops talent for companies around Australia. “In Melbourne, Kyle and I would commute for two hours every day and spent most of that time stuck in traffic jams – and we’re originally from London, which is even worse. “We came to the Gold Coast for a lifestyle change and having more time to slow down and do the things we want to do was the most important thing for us – so one way of making this a reality was creating a beautiful office space at home where we could run our business. Vue Terrace Homes have a second upstairs living area which is just perfect for an office. “I’m a lot more inspired about my work when I’m at home looking out to beautiful parklands and wetlands, instead of sitting in a little box in a busy city.” Kyle, a Senior Consultant at CH Solutions, said it was great to have time back in their lives after eliminating the daily commute. “Now we start our day going to the gym and taking a beach walk, then we come back and get our work done during the day – we finish work around 4 or 5 o’clock and end the day with some yoga on our balcony,” he said. “We love it – it’s everything we wanted from life.” Georgie said running a national recruitment agency remotely from her terrace home in Robina was ‘very doable’.

o its that time of year again. Where we have all indulged in on all our guilty pleasures. Had 3 lunches in one day and feel as if hibernation isn’t that unrealistic for even us as humans. The festive season is such an incredible time of year and for most of us is a great excuse to leave all our good habits behind and let our hair down a little.

How we are going to shred the 10kg we put on in the last week in 3 days and be competing with body building 3 days after that! It never ceases to amazing the amount of wonderful intentions that comes out of a singular date but what amazes me more is how many of these intentions fall by the wayside. So below I am going to break down 3 extremely easy tips that will help us control our weight (seems to be the most talked about) after the silly season or any time throughout the year.

Energy input is the other side of the simple yet difficult equation. If you want a drastic change in your weight trend, my advice is making changes in both your output by the advice above and the input by simply consuming less calories/ food. If your not requiring a drastic change and your looking for weight loss, just focus on the output (as this has a whole heap of other health benefits) if your looking for weight gain, well obviously you need to resistance train, but also ensure your intake goes up. I know this seems incredibly simple but simple steps and getting a win on the board is an easy way to start to develop good habits, routines and ultimately mindset. And THIS is the most important recipe to gain success!!

It is all about the TREND! The trend in your weight (is it going down or up or staying the same) is the most important information that you could possibly work out. And it is as simple as asking yourself the question and knowing what your weight is up to. PLEASE NOTE, I have not told you to fixate on the number, to be honest I don’t even care about the number what I care about is if it is moving in the direction you want it to be moving? The next step is making this happen:
