How Do You Give Back?

This year, we’re thinking about what it means to live generously – to live with a clear sense of the abundant good God provides.

For some, it means praying daily for the organization and those we serve. Others view it in the light of volunteering – giving their time to support Christian Science youth.

Still others live generously by making meaningful planned gifts to Adventure Unlimited through bequests, such as Ed Gondolf (read his story on p. 2).

We invite you to join us over the next several months in deeply considering what living generously looks like in your life.

What is the Summit Society?

The Summit Society was established to honor those who have taken the special step of including Adventure Unlimited in their long-term plans through a bequest provision, retirement plan assets, life insurance policy, life-income gift or other deferred giving arrangement.

Adventure Unlimited’s purpose is to provide recreational adventure, leadership, service, education and community activities that foster spiritual growth and healing in an environment where Christian Science is lived.

The Basics of Bequests

How to make an impact through your estate plans Including Adventure Unlimited in your estate plans has long-term beneficial effects on our ability to serve Christian Science youth and adults, as well as their families and friends. It allows us to continue our mission of “Opening Windows to God” in a number of ways. Here are just a few:

• Provide camperships and scholarships for those needing financial assistance to participate at the A/U Ranches or in DiscoveryBound programs

• Help maintain a safe, high-quality environment at the A/U Ranches facilities • Retain and hire top-notch staff for providing the best experiences possible for our participants If you’re considering making a bequest, here are some basics to help your planning.

Making a bequest: Bequests can come from your will or trust, retirement plans, life insurance or even bank/investment accounts.

Funding a bequest: Bequests can be a specific dollar amount or percentage of your estate, and in various forms, such as cash, securities and property.

Directing a bequest: Options include general support for Adventure Unlimited’s Annual Fund (annual operating needs), endowment funds, specific programs such as the DiscoveryBound National Leadership Council or A/U Ranches camperships, and so on.
