NAD Letters “Did God Create Dinosaurs?” (November 2015)

God through Ellen White gives us the following insight on the subject: “Every species of animals which God had created was preserved in the ark. The confused species which God did not create, which were the result of amalgamation, were destroyed by the Flood. Since the Flood, there has been amalgamation of man and beast, as may be seen in the almost endless varieties of species of animals, and in certain races of men (The Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 1, p. 78). I appreciated Joseph Olstad’s analysis in “Looking for Legalism, Finding Hypocrisy” (November 2015). Thank you for publishing it. Displaying the righteous facade to hide one’s disobedience is just as common today as it was in the days of Jesus. But the greatest insight in this article is how easy it is for us to miss a vital point, no matter how many times Jesus plainly states it, simply because it doesn’t fit the paradigm we have in our minds. I want to take that step from only seeing what I’m looking for, to looking for what the Bible actually says. Ken LeBrun Kettle Falls, Washington

Wow! I just read Joseph Olstad’s article “Looking for Legalism, Finding Hypocrisy” in the November edition of Adventist World. I estimate that I have sat through nearly 1,000 Sabbath school discussions on this topic, and Olstad’s careful biblical analysis brings such a breath of fresh air. I noticed especially the focus on inauthenticity, which constitutes problem 1 in reaching and gaining the trust of today’s young people. Bill Krick Clovis, California

pray: for ye know not when the time is” (Mark 13:33, KJV). Jesus is coming! Aubrey Thomas Helena, Oklahoma

Joseph Olstead, in his vigorously argued article, pointed out that Jesus never described actions that are commonly called legalism today as “legalism,” but rather “hypocrisy.” However, it should be noted that Jesus never would have used the term “legalism,” because the term did not even exist in His day, nor is it found in all of Scripture. The term “legalism” is a later theological term describing part of Paul’s theology, in which he describes and decries his own experience. Dennis Berlin Price, Utah

“A Question of Sonship” (November 2015)

Angel Manuel Rodríguez states that in the Old Testament, sons of God are angels. I am taking that to mean heavenly angels. He also says, “At the moment of creation we are told that ‘all the angels [Heb. “sons of God”] shouted for joy.’ ” I have a question. In Job 38:7, who are the morning stars that sang together if the sons of God are the angels? May our Father in heaven bless and watch over you through this end-time. Like Jesus said: “Take ye heed, watch and

Thank You

I always appreciate each issue, even passing them along to someone who I feel could use the information. Sometimes, though, it’s just better to write you to say: Thank you, Adventist World, and to all who made it possible for me to receive this gift. Jerry Thompson Aberdeen, Washington

I appreciated this article. You mentioned reduction of weight as a possible benefit; however, I wish you had given some thought to the types of foods to avoid that might be helpful. In my case I had a crippling in my hand a number of years ago, but the disease stopped advancing almost immediately when I avoided dairy products. Lately, while using the medication Lyrica, the swelling and pain began again, so obviously some medications in some individuals seem to increase this health issue. Just a thought.
