What Is Mammography
Mammography is the medical imaging technique used to detect breast cancer in women with no signs or symptoms of cancer. The images of breast tissues are taken with the help of X-rays, which are used by radiologists to diagnose any abnormalities which hint at the early stages of cancer. In traditional mammography, the breast is compressed between two plates to spread out the breast tissues and get a clear vision which helps to find out any abnormalities. In many women, this compression causes discomfort and pain in the breast. But for getting high-quality images they have to undergo this process, which is considered safe. Early detection of cancer helps to improve the outcome with the right treatment & proper medication, at the proper time.
Due to the discomfort caused during traditional mammography, many women might feel like avoiding it. But as far as health is considered it is always better to take precautions especially when it comes to a condition like cancer. Is there any option other than a traditional, painful mammogram? Yes, No compression mammogram is the solution to avoid this painful situation
