Services Full Mouth Rehabilitation Full mouth reconstruction, rehabilitation and restoration are terms often used interchangeably to describe the process of rebuilding or simultaneously restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws. Full mouth reconstruction typically involves general or restorative dentists (performing procedures like crowns, bridges and veneers), and can incorporate dental specialists like periodontists (specializing in the gums), oral surgeons, orthodontists (specializing in tooth movements and positions) and endodontists (specializing in the tooth pulp). The need for full mouth reconstruction may result from: Teeth that have been lost due to decay or trauma. Teeth that have been injured or fractured. Teeth that have become severely worn as a result of long-term acid erosion (foods, beverages, acid reflux) or tooth grinding. Ongoing complaints of jaw, muscle and headache pain requiring adjustments to the bite (occlusion).

Services Teeth Whitening Procedures Millions of people suffer from dental discoloration to varying degrees. Even those who brush, floss, and visit the dentist regularly may find that food, environmental factors, and the passage of time will eventually take their toll on the natural radiance of their teeth. Fortunately, professional teeth whitening is an incredibly effective way to lighten or altogether eliminate stains and achieve a naturally white smile. Today, you have more whitening options than ever before. Although there are many over-the-counter products to choose from, professional, dentistsupervised treatment is safer and offers more dependable results. Many cosmetic dentists offer both inoffice and at-home treatment options from reputed, trusted manufacturers.

Services Root Canal A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. “Root canal” is the term used to describe the natural cavity within the center of the tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooth’s nerve lies within the root canal. A tooth’s nerve is not vitally important to a tooth’s health and function after the tooth has emerged through the gums. Its only function is sensory — to provide the sensation of hot or cold. The presence or absence of a nerve will not affect the day-to-day functioning of the tooth. Root canal treatment is highly successful, the procedure has more than a 95% success rate. Many teeth fixed with a root canal can last a lifetime.

Services Painless Tooth Removal There are many reasons why your dentist would extract a tooth. An extraction may come as the result of severe tooth decay or disease, gum disease, fractured teeth, or in preparation for braces. There are two types of extractions that your dentist may have perform. The first extraction your doctor might perform is a non-surgical extraction which involves tools known as “elevators” and “forceps”, takes place while the patient is under anesthetic, and when the tooth is visible in the mouth. The second extraction your dentist may have to perform is a surgical extraction, which is also performed while the patient is under anaesthetic. However surgical removal differs in that the tooth is not visible and that an incision has to be made for the tooth to come out.

Services Dental Implants Dental implants as we know them today were invented in 1952 by a Swedish orthopedic surgeon named Per-Ingvar BrĂĽnemark. Today, they are considered the standard of care or prosthetic replacement of missing teeth in dentistry. A dental implant is a surgical fixture that is placed into the jawbone and allowed to fuse with the bone over the span of a few months. The dental implant acts as a replacement for the root of a missing tooth. In turn, this "artificial tooth root" serves to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Having a dental implant fused to the jawbone is the closest thing to mimicking a natural tooth because it stands on its own without affecting the nearby teeth and has great stability. The process of fusion between the dental implant and jawbone is called "osseointegration." Most dental implants are made of titanium, which allows them to integrate with bone without being recognized as a foreign object in our body.

Services Flouride Treatment Before teeth break through the gums, the fluoride taken in from foods, beverages and dietary supplements makes tooth enamel (the hard surface of the tooth) stronger, making it easier to resist tooth decay. This provides what is called a "systemic" benefit. After teeth erupt, fluoride helps rebuild (remineralize) weakened tooth enamel and reverses early signs of tooth decay. When you brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, or use other fluoride dental products, the fluoride is applied to the surface of your teeth. This provides what is called a "topical" benefit. In addition, the fluoride you take in from foods and beverages continues to provide a topical benefit because it becomes part of your saliva, constantly bathing the teeth with tiny amounts of fluoride that help rebuild weakened tooth enamel.
