Single Phase core type- single-phase core types construction consists of a core that provides a single–path magnetic circuit.



Single-phase shell type- the core of a single-phase shell type transformer is constructed with three limbs. Shell-type transformers are mostly used, where a limited amount of space is available.

Three-phase three limb- the transformer has three limbs. Every phase winding is wound amongst one of the limbs.




