Senior Moments A Message from Adssi Welcome to the first edition of the Adssi In-home Support newsletter for 2022. I hope you had a wonderful end-of-year break and got to spend quality time with loved ones.

We’ve been working hard to keep staff, clients, and the community safe from COVID-19, so I want to take this opportunity to thank you all - our wonderful clients. With the unavoidable reduction in services and available support workers due to COVID-19 restrictions, we appreciate your understanding during what was a tough time for everyone.

In this edition of Senior Moments, you’ll find information on FREE online health sessions, plus ways to keep your account up to date.

We’ve also had a significant technological development here at Adssi, with the launch of our new Adssi app and SMS text line. Your care is literally in your hands, as you can now download the new Adssi app to book services and get updates on your schedule. Scan the QR code on the back of this newsletter and join us online!

Covid-19 Update

The COVID-19 situation is constantly changing. This has resulted in many of our staff members being in isolation.

Because of this, we’ve temporarily reduced the number of client services provided.

Essential services such as medication support and personal care are our current priority. We have tried to modify services where possible; for example, social-based activities occur outdoors.

Although Adssi In-home Support staff and volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, there are a few things that you can do to help us deliver our support safely: COVID-19 Screenings Please answer screening questions with workers honestly. Try to recall as much information regarding recent interactions with others as possible. The correct information keeps us all safe.

Booster Vaccinations Vaccination, including boosters, is vital to protect yourself and your loved ones against COVID-19. Government guidelines have now changed, and you are now eligible for your booster vaccination three months after your 2nd vaccination dose. We want to help you get your booster vaccination as soon as possible (in line with your circumstances).

Please get in touch if you need help with transport to your appointment or help to access an appointment.

Access to FREE Rapid Antigen Testing The Australian government have introduced a temporary Rapid Antigen Test Concessional Access program, which ends on 30 April 2022. If you have a valid, eligible Commonwealth concession card, you can access up to 10 rapid antigen tests through participating pharmacies at no cost to you.

Visit health.gov.au and search “Rapid Antigen Test Concessional Access” for more information.

NDIS participants can purchase rapid antigen tests (RATs) with funding from their NDIS plan.

Face masks Clients must wear a mask during a service visit unless they have an exemption. To ensure client and community safety, our staff wear masks in the office and for client services. When both the client and carer wear a mask, the risk of COVID transmission is significantly reduced.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and commitment to keeping yourself and our staff safe as we follow the government and health guidelines. We will continue to update you as the situation evolves and are working hard to get back to our full roster of services as soon as we can.

Ways to pay your account Direct Debit is a payment option that looks after itself. Once you have submitted a Direct Debit Request form, Adssi In-home Support will be able to debit an amount from your bank to pay your account.

Direct Deposit is also known as online banking and is a fast and convenient way to pay your account. You can find our bank details at the bottom of your invoice.

Pay over the phone between 9am and 5pm on weekdays on 1300 578 478. Have your credit or debit card ready. The payment will be processed, and you will be given a receipt number, or we can email/post a receipt to you. This is a secure payment method; we will retain no card details.

This year the NSW Seniors Festival runs from Friday 25 March to Sunday 3 April. It is time to come together and reconnect in person and online with fun and entertaining events and activities.

To find an activity or offer near you, visit seniorsfestival.nsw.gov.au We'll be at Central Coast Council's Seniors Festival Expo at Wyong Race Club on Thursday 31 March from 9:30 am to 12.30 pm. Come and say hi!

Free Health Sessions

Easter Office Closures: Good Friday 15 April Easter Monday 18 April.

We are also closed for the ANZAC Day public holiday.

Use your personal alarm if you have one in an emergency, or call 000.

The Combined Pensioners & Superannuants Association is running free health sessions, available on zoom.

Subjects include medicine management, diabetes awareness, arthritis management and many more.
