In the small village of Hamilton Square sits a stone house that is one of the most massive in Monroe County, PA. The house, which sits on Legislative Route 949, now known as South Easton-Belmont Pike, served as a family home to Rudolph Drach, a famous potter, and several generations of this family. It was rumored to be a hotel and stage coach stop, although no documents have ever been found to support this claim. The house fell into disrepair in the 1950s and continued to crumble. In the late 1960s, Edward Hunsicker, a local businessman, was taking a Sunday drive and came across the old house. He fell in love with it immediately and set out to locate its owner. He eventually purchased the home and what was left of the original 253 acres of land, and set about the renovation of the house. The Hunsickers moved into the house in 1968, and lived there until 2021. This is a history of the house from it's beginning.
